🚨WE NEED HELP!!! 🚨
Friday night our team took on a new project on the east side of Cleveland.
Years of taking care of stray cats and letting the pregnant females come inside to give birth and wean their kittens has spiraled out of control for these well-meaning residents.
Eventually the number of cats got to be too much for the residents here to handle, and they reached out to the Cleveland Animal Protective League with a desperate plea for help. Knowing that we have experience with delicate situations and do a lot of work on the East Side, the APL called our rescue, and we knew we had to step in.
There are easily 40-50 kittens and cats at this one house, and we are aiming to help the residents in fixing all of them so the cycle can end.
We took in 19 kittens, including a mama and her four 4-week-old kittens, on Friday night. Approximately 20 adults remain with an unknown number of kittens, but we suspect double digits there.
So far the kittens we have pulled have pretty bad tapeworms and eye infections, but it's clear the residents did their best to give them a fighting chance.
Any comments shaming these residents will be deleted - some people are doing the best they can to take care of the cats with best intentions. We want people to continue to feel like they can ask for help when situations become unmanageable.
🚨WE NEED HELP!!!🚨
FOLLOWERS! Taking on a large project like this means using a lot more food, litter, and topical flea treatments.
Our wishlist is linked on this post and in our bio - we need food, peepads, litter, paper towels, etc. Can you send a donation, or even donate $5 towards our rescue so we can buy the food we need?
RESCUES! Can anyone help out and take in 1-2 adult cats? Can you take 1-2 kittens?
We added 20 kittens to our intake Friday night and our fosters are FULL! We want to go back and pull the cats and get them fixed but we cannot do that until more foster space opens up.
We are also always taking APPLICATIONS for new foster homes. Even getting a cat that we have had in our care for months into a new foster home can open up space for new kittens to come in.
If you have experience fostering or are even brand-new to it, we'd love to have you join our team.
