Calling Central residents far and wide!
We cannot let the pandemic put a pause on the development of our next generation of leaders!
Central Opportunity for Purposeful Engagement (COPE) is a summer leadership camp for youth, ages 15-19, led by Central Promise Neighborhood Ambassadors, to train the next generation of peer leaders in the Central community in Cleveland, Ohio. This Camp responds to the traumatic effects of COVID on the mental health of residents in Central. COPE is run by CIPTT, Inc. which is a 501(c)3 public charity that runs an intergenerational urban garden at E.39th and Community College Ave. that grows produce to help residents with chronic illness; sponsors community art programs, and hosts public art exhibits. COPE offers a safe and supportive space to conduct community engagement through creative art expression, su***de prevention training, health fitness and wellness, and gardening.
We ask for your support in this campaign to raise $5,000 for our youth. We will be hosting a variety of community events throughout the summer that will have a positive impact on the lives of our citizens. For example, the youth leaders will be running a produce garden that will feed the community fresh fruits and vegetables for free. They will also provide mental health support against su***de to young kids and will organize a community walk and wellness day on August 7th from 8:30-11:30 am, where residents will walk from the E. 39th St garden to and around Tri-C track Their wins are your wins, let’s work together to and invest in not only our youth, but city as well.
