“Our separate struggles are really one.” ~ Dr. King in a telegram to Cesar Chavez, 1966.

Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., not just as a hero of the Civil Rights Movement, but as the architect of a fairer society that opened doors for nuestra comunidad. The dismantling of segregation and the fight for voting rights paved the way for the opportunities we have today.

Without his courage and the movement he led, many of us wouldn’t be here, building our own dreams and taking up space in rooms that were once closed to us.

We honor his legacy by remembering that the fight for justice has no borders. Black and Brown, we rise together. ✊🏾✊🏽🕊️

We’ve all been seeing what’s happening online and in our communities. Names, faces, families impacted. What’s going on right now with ICE and immigration enforcement is affecting real people and creating fear for many, regardless of status.

Latino Cleveland is not a political organization. We’re a community platform. We exist to uplift Latino businesses, culture, and voices; but when our neighbors are being harmed, detained, or killed, staying silent isn’t an option.

This post is about awareness, care, and connection. None of this is normal. None of this is okay. Our community has always been strongest when we look out for one another.

On Sunday, December 21st, is hosting its Bienvenido Christmas Celebration! A bilingual English–Spanish worship experience. You’ll also witness the graduation of their first Spanish-language Bienvenido Cohort, with light refreshments after service.

Invite your family, friends, and anyone who speaks Spanish or wants to experience a bilingual service. It’s going to be an incredible celebration. ¡Feliz Navidad! 🎄
