Greetings fellow pigeon flyer! We are reaching out to you again for your support in what we are hoping will be another successful push in sport promotion. Last year was a great success and we are hoping this year will be even better. Several flyers across the country donated some fantastic birds.

This year we are planning on doing the same, however this year we are using I Pigeon with help from Fred Smeltzer ([email protected]). I believe in spreading it out to each and everyone that can assist us in making this year’s fundraiser a success. Last year we used I Dream Pigeon and want to thank Frank Mclaughlin for everything he did to make it successful.

We want to hold the auction this year, the week of November 21 thru November 28th the week of Thanksgiving and 100% of proceeds go to Sport Promotion/Retention.

Our Promotion/Retention aim will be the same as last year:

New program for beginners (youth) utilizing cell phones and rubber countermarks, along with EWINSPEED®, to keep the cost down for kids.
Purchasing used old electric clocks for those new members age 19 and over. Those clocks will be on loan to the clubs and monitored for future new members. This should help overcome the challenge of the cost of a new clock and not discourage new members.
Contract with a national builder (Home Depot or Lowes) to custom build small lofts for beginners.
Advertise on social media and look for direction within the marketplace to cover all possible avenues of exposure.

You can imagine this is a large undertaking. We do need your assistance. That is why we are asking for bird donations to auction off, to continue this program. I know you are constantly solicited for donations. I also know your reputation of generosity to beginners. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated. Your input is also appreciated, as I am confident you have an area of expertise that may enhance this effort. Please feel free to contact me via phone or email.

We cannot make this happen without help from everyone as we all need to do what we can to help keep this sport alive and thriving. The picture above is an example of a new loft built using funds raised from the promotion auction held last year. The family in front of the loft are new members in the Lakes Zone. The Lakes Zone Facebook site posted promotional videos on social media and 8 new members have started and are getting support from the AU and local club members. I do believe this sport will grow but its up to you the members. I am looking for donations as soon as possible so we can advertise and promote those outstanding Birds. Please feel free to call me at any time with any questions you might have.

Sincerely Yours in Sport
