The House

The ground on which “The House” is built was purchased by Esther Gilbert ,after the passing of her husband, more than 60 years ago. It was only through a series of God interventions that she was able to keep it. Her heart was to love God and serve Him with all that was in her. She raised four boys on this property, each of them becoming men who loved God and served Him with all their hearts. Known by most as Grandma, and loved by all who knew her, she was famous for her handmade quilts and fried chicken. Truth be told, it was the love and warmth filling her home that drew people there. She greeted everyone with a smile, a glass of tea, and something to eat, (always made from scratch). The world seemed to stop for a while when you were in Grandma’s house.

This Godly heritage is the foundation for “The House”. We hope we’ve created a place that will allow you to escape the noise of life, refresh, regroup, and refuel. Allow the farmhouse style to take you back to a simpler time and feel safe and loved, just like you did in Grandma’s house.

So come in, have a seat, have a home cooked meal, a glass of tea or cup of coffee and allow your heart to be quieted and loved!
