👑 ✨ Celebrating the 2023-24 YMG Kickoff Event at Topgolf, Independence, Ohio! 👑✨
The night was filled with excitement and joy as young men, both new and old, came together to kick off the year with a bang at our annual kick off event at Top Golf in Independence, Ohio.
Over 25 Young Men and their families, and community partners listened keenly as the founders Gary Hicks, Sr. and Cameron Mathis spoke about the organization's vision, mission, and needs for their program, in their city. Hicks, an Intervention Specialist, and Mathis, a Dean of Students, both work in Education. These two gentleman have been putting in the work since their 2017 inception, through their 4 pillars -Leadership Development, Financial Literacy, Social Emotional, and Community Engagement, to help the young men navigate life with an “intentional pursuit” to becoming the best version of themselves.
The nights theme was “ Young Kings” and Lewis Burrel III delivered a dynamic message that encouraged the Young Men that their purpose is to accept the call to become men of valor, dignity, and self-discipline 💪🏾 “Kingship👑”
Javion Davis, a founding YMG member shared how YMG has changed his life as a Young Man Growing up in the city of Cleveland.
The Kick Off has begun, and the room was filled with matched motivatiom and passion as the Young Men recited their “We Believe” statement of dedication. There is so much in store for this new season, so much to learn and so much to experience. YMG is hoping you can come along for the journey.
