Ludwig van Beethoven was not exactly known for his cheeriness. Historical anecdotes abound, and it’s easy to forget that the metronome-smashing, soup-throwing, manuscript-shredding composer had a lighter, more optimistic side - which occasionally came out in his music!

The sunny side of Beethoven is on full display in his Fourth Symphony, which HCO performs on Sunday, May 10th, in our final concert of the season.
