Today, Clermont Professional Firefighters Local 4350 was proud to sponsor Hole #3 at the Skyler Jackson Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by our brothers and sisters of the Lake County Firefighters

Local 4350 also had a team competing in the tournament and brought home a 2nd place overall finish! 🥈 To top it off, Member Dominguez took home the Longest Drive Contest! 💪🏌️‍♂️

More importantly, today was another great example of what the IAFF family is all about. Locals from throughout Central Florida came together for a day of camaraderie, brotherhood, and most importantly, to support a brother in need.

We’re always proud to stand alongside our fellow IAFF locals and support those who support our profession.

Our members are getting a much needed upgrade to Fire Station #2 (Hartwood Marsh) See below for details related to the construction project.

🚧 Construction Notice – Clermont Fire Department Station 2 🚒

Exciting improvements are underway at Clermont Fire Department Station 2, located at 2200 Hartwood Marsh Road!

As our department and community continue to grow, Fire Station 2 is receiving a major renovation and expansion to better serve Clermont for years to come. Originally built in 2001, the station's existing layout no longer meets the operational needs of today's fire service.

The renovation will add approximately 4,600 square feet of conditioned space and bring the station in line with current National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommendations. Improvements include:

🏗️ Expanded apparatus bays for current and future fire apparatus
🛏️ Improved separation between living areas and spaces exposed to contaminants
🚿 Additional bathrooms and locker facilities
💪 A dedicated fitness area
🦺 Modernized turnout gear storage designed to protect firefighter health, safety, and equipment integrity

These enhancements will provide our firefighters with a safer, healthier, and more efficient workplace while ensuring they remain ready to respond whenever our community needs them.

🚒 During construction, firefighters assigned to Station 2 have temporarily relocated to the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center. Emergency response operations will continue from a temporary modular building located in the rear parking area throughout the project.

⏳ Construction is expected to take approximately 10 months.

Today, the members of the Clermont Professional Firefighters Local 4350 honor the life and legacy of our brother, Firefighter Joe De Marinis, who passed away in the line of duty on July 14, 2016.

Ten years may have passed, but Joe’s memory remains as strong as ever, especially for the members assigned to Engine 103. Dedicated in his honor when it was placed into service, every time our firefighters climb aboard, Joe continues to ride alongside them.

Joe, you are deeply missed, brother. We know you are still watching over us, and we hope you know that we continue to proudly provide the exceptional service you were once so proud to be a part of.

Your legacy will never fade, and you will forever remain our brother.

Well, the streak came to an end for the brothers and sisters of Local 4350’s B-Shift…

No structure fires to report, but they did get to do one of the most firefighter things EVER and rescue a cute little kitten from a tree!

Engine 103 was dispatched to the area of Hwy 50 and Citrus Tower Blvd for a kitten stuck high in a tree. After determining the kitten was tangled in branches just out of reach of their ground ladder, Engine 103 requested Tower 103 to assist.

Crews used a combination of a ground ladder and the aerial ladder to free the kitten (formerly named Fuzz Lightyear by the crews) and return it safely back to the ground.

While it wasn’t a structure fire, we’d say this was a pretty PAW-SOME job by B-Shift!

Members of Local 4350 A-Shift Rescue One Victim from Working House Fire 🔥 🔥🔥

Last night at approximately 2300 hours, members of the Clermont Professional Firefighters Local 4350 A-Shift were dispatched to the area of 5th Street in the City of Clermont for a reported structure fire with possible entrapment.

Initial information from dispatch advised responding units that the caller reported hearing a loud “pop,” followed by rapidly developing smoke and heat conditions inside the home. The caller stated she was still inside the structure and unable to get out due to the heat.

Clermont Fire Department units arrived within just three minutes of dispatch and reported heavy fire showing from the Bravo side corner of a two-story structure. Engine 101 and Heavy Rescue 1 arrived simultaneously and immediately began a coordinated fire attack and search.

While crews were stretching attack lines to the Bravo side, Engine 101’s Lieutenant heard screaming coming from a doorway near the fire area. Engine 101 split its crew, began flowing water through a window to control fire conditions, and made entry into the structure.

Engine 101 quickly located the entrapped victim located in kitchen area, and with assistance from Tower 103, removed the victim from the structure. The patient was then turned over to an on scene Lake County Fire Rescue Medic 89 for transport.

This incident presented several significant challenges, including heavy fuel load conditions and balloon frame construction, which contributed to rapid fire spread into the second floor and attic space. Crews also encountered a collapse on the second floor, prompting an evacuation of the structure. Thankfully, no firefighter injuries occurred during the collapse.

Crews operated on scene for approximately two hours.

At approximately 0730 hours this morning, a secondary rekindle occurred in the area of the collapsed portion of the home, which had been difficult to access during primary overhaul operations. Engine 101 responded and quickly brought the fire back under control.

We take great pride in the work performed by the men and women of Local 4350. Incidents like this are exactly what our members train for, mentally and physically prepare for, and stand ready to respond to every day they report for duty.

Because of their readiness, professionalism, and fast response, a life was saved.

This incident serves as another reminder of why appropriately staffed fire trucks, properly located fire stations, and consistent, realistic training matter. We proudly wear the ISO Class 1 rating on our uniforms knowing we serve a city that supports and backs the members of our Local allowing us to be ready to handle ANY type of emergency.

This fire was also the 6th structure fire our members responded to in the last 48 hours!

A busy 4th of July so far for the members of Clermont Firefighters Local 4350 C-Shift!

While many are celebrating the holiday, your Clermont firefighters have been hard at work responding to multiple significant incidents across the area. So far today, members have been dispatched to five reported structure fires, along with other emergency calls throughout the city and surrounding areas.

CFD units were dispatched on a mutual aid assignment to assist with a 2-alarm commercial structure fire. Clermont units operating at this incident included Battalion 103, Battalion 101, Tower 103, Heavy Rescue 1, and Engine 101.

While those units were committed, remaining CFD companies protecting the City of Clermont were dispatched to an additional structure fire in an apartment, which was held to the kitchen area, as well as a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle into a tree.

An additional reported structure fire was dispatched within the city and handled by mutual aid companies due to Clermont units already operating at the aforementioned incidents.

Days like this highlight the dedication, professionalism, and readiness of the members of Local 4350. No matter the holiday, no matter the call volume, our members continue to answer the call for the residents and visitors of Clermont.

We are proud of the work performed by C-Shift so far today and thankful for our neighboring mutual aid partners who assisted in protecting our city during a very busy holiday.

Yesterday, Local 4350 Executive Board members had the privilege of meeting with the Clermont Fire Department's New Hire Class 26-02 regarding membership in Local 4350. During this meeting, they were given a brief presentation outlining our union's vision, values, and expectations. We are thrilled to announce that all 7 new hires are now part of our Local 4350 family, proudly upholding our 100% IAFF affiliation!
