Please join us in wishing Clermont Professional Firefighters Local 4350 members and Clermont Fire Department personnel Lieutenant M. Rock, Lieutenant S. Smith, and Battalion Chief L. Brear, along with their respective teams, safe travels and successful operations as they deploy to Florida’s Panhandle in response to Hurricane Isaias.

Lieutenant Rock mobilized yesterday with Florida Urban Search & Rescue Task Force 4 as part of a Type III Urban Search and Rescue Team equipped with swiftwater rescue capabilities.

Task Force 4 has joined nine additional State USAR Teams staging near Tallahassee ahead of landfall. These highly trained teams are preparing to conduct frontline search and rescue operations in storm impacted communities, including rescuing individuals trapped by flooding, swift moving water, and other hazardous conditions.

Lieutenant Smith and Battalion Chief Brear are scheduled to mobilize tomorrow with the Central Florida Region 5 All-Hazards Incident Management Team, supporting Okaloosa County Emergency Management with disaster response coordination, emergency operations, and recovery efforts.

As firefighters, our commitment to protecting lives extends far beyond the borders of Clermont. These deployments reflect the dedication, professionalism, and selflessness our members demonstrate every day.

On behalf of the Clermont Professional Firefighters Local 4350, we couldn’t be prouder of these individuals and their willingness to answer the call when communities need them most.

Our 2026 Breast Cancer Awareness Shirts are officially on sale at Clermont Fire Station 3!

Each year, we are proud to support breast cancer awareness and stand with those affected by it. This year, however, the campaign carries an even more personal meaning for our Clermont Fire family.

In late June, Robyn Rice, a valued member of the Clermont Fire Department administrative staff, was diagnosed with cancer. As Robyn continues her fight, we want her to know that her Local 4350 family is standing firmly beside her.

This year’s design includes special tributes to her, including a white awareness ribbon with the initials “RR” and a white Halligan incorporated into the flag to represent lung cancer awareness, while continuing our annual commitment to breast cancer awareness.

also serves as a reminder to her and every woman fighting cancer nationwide that they are NEVER fighting alone.

Today, members of the Clermont Professional Firefighters Local 4350 joined our brothers and sisters from agencies throughout our community to honor and remember the lives lost during the attacks of September 11, 2001.

Twenty five years ago, our nation made a promise: We Will Never Forget.

Today, our members proudly did their part to keep that promise.

As Americans across the country come together to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day, we pause to honor the innocent victims, the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the countless others whose lives were forever changed.

For those of us in the fire service, September 11 carries a profound meaning. We remember the 343 FDNY firefighters who answered the call and never returned home. Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to others continue to inspire generations of firefighters who followed in their footsteps.

Twenty five years later, we remember their names. We remember their sacrifice. We remember the lives lost.

We promised to Never Forget. We never will.

THE CITY OF CLERMONT FIRE DEPARTMENT IS HIRING FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDICS!

The City of Clermont Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Firefighter/Paramedic positions to fill immediate staffing needs following the recent opening of Fire Station 5 and the several promotional advancements that occurred within the department as a result.

Current starting salary for Firefighter/Paramedic is approximately $66,020, with opportunities to earn additional incentives.

CFD firefighters also benefit from a 21-day Kelly Day cycle, meaning our members work approximately 408 fewer hours per year (17 fewer 24-hour shifts) than firefighters working at departments without a Kelly Day system.

Additionally, our members are entering the final year of the current collective bargaining agreement, with another salary increase and increase to the paramedic incentive scheduled for October.

But we aren’t stopping there.

The Clermont Professional Firefighters Local 4350 is currently preparing to begin negotiations for our next collective bargaining agreement (2027-2030). As Clermont continues to grow, and our call volume continues to increase at a rapid pace! Our priorities will remain focused on protecting the health, safety, careers, and families of the firefighters who serve this community.

Our upcoming negotiations will focus on major priorities including:

🔥 Competitive compensation
🔥 Schedule improvements consistent with House Bill 929
🔥 Appropriate staffing
🔥 Firefighter health and safety
🔥 Retirement benefits
🔥 Recruitment and retention
🔥 And anything else necessary to protect the health and welfare of the members we proudly represent

Today, Clermont Professional Firefighters Local 4350 was proud to sponsor Hole #3 at the Skyler Jackerson Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by our brothers and sisters of the Lake County Firefighters

Local 4350 also had a team competing in the tournament and brought home a 2nd place overall finish! 🥈 To top it off, Member Dominguez took home the Longest Drive Contest! 💪🏌️‍♂️

More importantly, today was another great example of what the IAFF family is all about. Locals from throughout Central Florida came together for a day of camaraderie, brotherhood, and most importantly, to support a brother in need.

We’re always proud to stand alongside our fellow IAFF locals and support those who support our profession.

Members of Local 4350 A-Shift Rescue One Victim from Working House Fire 🔥 🔥🔥

Last night at approximately 2300 hours, members of the Clermont Professional Firefighters Local 4350 A-Shift were dispatched to the area of 5th Street in the City of Clermont for a reported structure fire with possible entrapment.

Initial information from dispatch advised responding units that the caller reported hearing a loud “pop,” followed by rapidly developing smoke and heat conditions inside the home. The caller stated she was still inside the structure and unable to get out due to the heat.

Clermont Fire Department units arrived within just three minutes of dispatch and reported heavy fire showing from the Bravo side corner of a two-story structure. Engine 101 and Heavy Rescue 1 arrived simultaneously and immediately began a coordinated fire attack and search.

While crews were stretching attack lines to the Bravo side, Engine 101’s Lieutenant heard screaming coming from a doorway near the fire area. Engine 101 split its crew, began flowing water through a window to control fire conditions, and made entry into the structure.

Engine 101 quickly located the entrapped victim located in kitchen area, and with assistance from Tower 103, removed the victim from the structure. The patient was then turned over to an on scene Lake County Fire Rescue Medic 89 for transport.

This incident presented several significant challenges, including heavy fuel load conditions and balloon frame construction, which contributed to rapid fire spread into the second floor and attic space. Crews also encountered a collapse on the second floor, prompting an evacuation of the structure. Thankfully, no firefighter injuries occurred during the collapse.

Crews operated on scene for approximately two hours.

At approximately 0730 hours this morning, a secondary rekindle occurred in the area of the collapsed portion of the home, which had been difficult to access during primary overhaul operations. Engine 101 responded and quickly brought the fire back under control.

We take great pride in the work performed by the men and women of Local 4350. Incidents like this are exactly what our members train for, mentally and physically prepare for, and stand ready to respond to every day they report for duty.

Because of their readiness, professionalism, and fast response, a life was saved.

This incident serves as another reminder of why appropriately staffed fire trucks, properly located fire stations, and consistent, realistic training matter. We proudly wear the ISO Class 1 rating on our uniforms knowing we serve a city that supports and backs the members of our Local allowing us to be ready to handle ANY type of emergency.

This fire was also the 6th structure fire our members responded to in the last 48 hours!

Shout out to our brothers and sisters of Groveland Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 5142, Lake County Firefighters, and Minneola Fire for their assistance. 💪
