Kiwanis Club of Clermont

We were excited this summer to roll out a community child-safety project in collaboration with the Clermont Parks & Recreation Center and the Community Foundation of South Lake-CFSL.

Thanks to a $2,000.00 grant provided by the CFSL, the club was able to coordinate a drowning prevention and swim safety program with the City of Clermont’s Recreation and Aquatics Team.

Participating ages ranged from 6 months old to 6 years old with applicable programs for each age group. “By the end of the program, they are all leaving with something valuable. They’ve learned important water safety skills, gained confidence, and had a lot of fun along the way,” says Aquatics Manager Paige Neely.

We are grateful as a club to both the CFSL and the City of Clermont for this wonderful opportunity. We want to also give a huge shout out to Paige for her unwavering professionalism and ability in putting the program together.

We enjoyed a day of “hello’s” and “so longs for now” today at our weekly lunch gathering!

We welcomed new club member Christina Gonzalez today. Christina brings a wide variety of community service and youth leadership skills to the club. She has wasted no time in becoming involved with youth-related service leadership programs that our club sponsors in the South Lake community. 🏆

We also enjoyed a farewell visit from retiring United States Congressman Daniel Webster. Congressman Webster has been a frequent visitor and supporter of our club over the years. We wish you the best in your next chapter of life and thank you for your service, Congressman Webster! 🇺🇸

Join us each Tuesday at 11:30 AM, 6 PM on the 3rd Monday of each month, for some community fellowship and strategic planning to serve youth and community in the South Lake area.

Thank you to the Mascotte Police Department, City of Mascotte, and Mascotte Charter School for a fun morning at the 5th Annual “Back to School Bash”.

Over 800 backpacks were prepped and ready to go this morning, plus plenty of food, music and fun to go along with the celebration of a brand new school year!

Join us this Saturday, August 8th, for the 5th Annual Back to School Bash presented by the Mascotte Police Department and hosted by Mascotte Charter School!

Thank you to everyone who came out today to support our annual Taco Fundraiser. The yearly family friendly, and festive event raises funds for non-profit organizations in the South Lake community that serve youth and families.

This year’s recipient of those funds, the Christian Men in Action, is an organization that was founded in 2005 and remains active today. The CMA participate in a wide variety of outreach activities including a yearly Christmas party and dinner at McKinney Park.

We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Green Valley Country Club for your gracious hospitality and continued support of our club!
