Florida has an Additional $740.4 Million for Emergency Rental Assistance Available for Families
Florida Department of Children and Families Continues OUR Florida Program

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) announced today that Florida has received an additional $740.4 million to continue to operate the emergency rental assistance program.

“DCF is on a mission to support families in their greatest time of need, and the OUR Florida program is another example of our efforts to assist Florida families on their road to economic self-sufficiency. OUR Florida has provided relief to more than 164,000 households, keeping families safe in their homes throughout 2021 and into 2022,” said DCF Secretary Shevaun Harris. “The extension of the emergency rental assistance program and the corresponding additional relief funds will accelerate Florida’s recovery and help those in need.”

The OUR Florida vendor has hired even more staff and now has a team of more than 700 processing applications, managing cases, answering calls and supporting the program.

Since OUR Florida was launched in May 2021, the program has distributed more than $858 million in funding to more than 164,000 households across Florida. The State of Florida has accepted a second round of Emergency Rental Assistance funded by the U.S. Treasury to help Florida tenants get on the road to recovery and economic self-sufficiency.

Floridians who rent the home, apartment, or other dwelling where they live can apply for relief through OUR Florida. To be eligible for benefits, renters must be low income or unemployed, experienced a loss of income or financial hardship during the last year, and behind on rent or utility payments, or at risk of falling behind.

THIS SUNDAY, September 20th at 1pm! Free food box give-away at The Family Christian Center located at 2500 S Hwy 27 in Clermont. The church is next to Harley Davidson dealership across from Olive Garden.

These food boxes are filled with perishable food items! Please come this Sunday at 1pm to pick one up!!

To our friends and family in transition, this Sunday at 1:00 pm our team will be distributing free family food boxes filled with perishable items.

We welcome you to join us for our in-person service at 11:00 am and you can pick up your food box directly after service.

It was a great day at the Family Christian Center Food Pantry!! We donated over 42,000 meals that will soon be on their way with the Haines family to feed kids in Honduras. Looking for something fun to do tonight? Lights and Ladders is a FREE event for the public 5PM-10PM! FREE FOOD 6PM-8PM from Chick Fil A, Burger Craft, Subway, Papa Johns, Buffalo Wild Wings & more! Pony rides, laser tag, bounce houses and MORE!! Dodgeball games to play against the police and fire departments are open to the first 100 kids ages 10-16. Registration opens at 5pm.
