Good morning from the ranch 🐾☀️
We wanted to take a moment to explain a little more about our adoption process, since all six of our Ninja Turtle puppies are now posted on Adopt a Pet and applications are starting to come in.🐢💚
First, we ask that applications be filled out as completely as possible. If you rent, we do require landlord approval. If you currently have pets in the home, we ask that they be up to date on vaccinations.
Our process includes:
🐾 Adoption application
🐾 Phone call & quick video home check
We offer meet and greets for approved applicants. If you’d like to meet one of the puppies, please fill out an application. Once we’ve had a chance to speak with you and approve your application, you’re more than welcome to come out to the ranch for a meet and greet. 💚
All puppies will be spayed/neutered before going home. Their surgeries are scheduled for June 1, and we plan to keep them for about 7–10 days afterward to ensure they are healing properly. The Ninja Turtle puppies should be ready to head home on or before June 10.
Some adopters from our last litter adopted sight unseen, which is completely okay! While meeting the puppy is optional, we do require the phone call and video chat because we really try our best to match each puppy to the right family and lifestyle.
One thing we always try to be honest about: puppies are a LOT of work.
They need frequent potty breaks, structure, patience, and training. Small puppies often can only hold their bladder for a couple of hours at first. We highly encourage crate training - our Ninja Turtle puppies are already sleeping comfortably in their crates at night and beginning the crate training process. We believe crates should feel like a safe, comforting den, not a place where a puppy spends all day while someone is away from home.
We also strongly recommend starting with a puppy-safe area such as an x-pen or gated space instead of giving a young puppy free access to the whole house. Setting them up with structure helps them succeed and makes potty training so much easier.
Their personalities are really beginning to shine now, and we’re happy to share our thoughts on which puppy may be the best fit for your family. We currently have two approved applicants and are continuing to accept applications for the entire litter.
We are not strictly first come, first served. We truly try to make thoughtful matches. However, the only way we can officially hold a puppy is with a deposit that goes toward the adoption fee. We simply don’t feel it’s fair for a puppy to wait indefinitely when there may be another wonderful family interested in them.
Thank you all again for the love, support, shares, follows, and applications. These puppies came from a rural shelter in Alabama and were flown here through puppy rescue flights, a rescue transport nonprofit, which helps free up space in a very high-kill area. Every adoption truly helps save lives. 🐾
Thank you for supporting and for considering rescue. 💚
