🐾 Happy Gotcha Day, Baloo - now known as Onyx! 🖤

We had a second adoption over the weekend! 🎉

The weather wasn’t cooperating at pickup, so we didn’t get our usual Gotcha Day photo, but Onyx’s new owner sent us this adorable picture of him with his new big sister, who absolutely loves him.❤️

We’re so happy for sweet Onyx and his new family.

Meet Rona, a handsome 6½-year-old Blue Heeler looking for a loving new home. 💙 Due to a serious allergy-related health issue within the family, along with changing work circumstances, Rona’s family has made the difficult decision to find him a new home.

Breakfast Time at the Ranch ☀️

Good morning from Bekah’s Blessings Ranch… horses having breakfast, chickens making their rounds, and Pup Pup believes that rolling in the grass is the best to start the day! 🐾

Today for $5 Friday, we wanted to highlight one part of our mission that doesn’t always come with a dramatic rescue story or an emergency ~ but is at the heart of what we do every single day: our horse sanctuary.

Our sanctuary is home to senior horses, former race and work horses, owner surrenders, and horses whose riding or working days are behind them.

We’re proud to offer them a safe place to spend their retirement years, where their only job is simply to be horses. Good feed, veterinary and farrier care, and lots of love.

Bekah’s Blessings Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue and farm animal sanctuary created in memory of my daughter, Rebekah. We are 100% volunteer-run - there are no salaries here. Every donation goes toward caring for the animals who depend on us, and truly, no donation is too small.

For today’s $5 Friday, donations will help us continue covering Hemi’s unexpected $675.14 emergency veterinary bill after he injured himself and required sutures, antibiotics and pain medication. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has already helped us with his care. 💚

And rescue continues beyond the pastures! 🐾 We currently have five wonderful puppies still looking for their forever homes. They’ve each had a rough start, but they are some of the sweetest, cutest puppies, and we’ll be highlighting each of them individually.

📸 Maisie, our beautiful Maremma.

Maisie came to us as an owner surrender because of her intense fear of thunderstorms and lightning. ⛈️ It’s something she still struggles with ~ and something we are working through with her - but Maisie has a forever home here with us at the ranch. 🤍

She is sweet, loyal, wonderfully fluffy, and very much loved.

Today we celebrate Maisie, and all the wonderful dogs who have come into our lives and changed them for the better. 🐾❤️

Ophelia & Scratches keeping Hemi company while he heals. ✨

Hemi is a wild child at heart 🐎 and stalling him simply isn’t a safe option, so we’ve had to get a little creative while his wound heals.

Yesterday I looked over and saw the three of them standing together like this. Hemi with his best buddy Scratches and his new friend Ophelia close by. They stayed quietly with him, almost as if they knew their friend needed a little extra support. ❤️

Thankfully, Hemi has two pretty great role models when it comes to taking it easy. 😂 As draft horses, Scratches and Ophelia have mastered the art of slow and steady. Our retired racehorse Hemi… is still working on that part!

Happy Wednesday from Woody! 😍☀️

🐾 Rex & Woody Update! 🐾

It’s been a little while since we’ve shared these two handsome boys, so we thought it was time for an update! ❤️

Their siblings Jessie and Buzz went home on spay/neuter contracts. While we occasionally do this with young puppies and approved adopters, our preference is to have our rescue dogs spayed or neutered before they head to their forever homes.

And today is the day for Woody & Rex! 🐶🐶 They are being neutered today and, once they’ve had time to heal, they’ll officially be ready to go home!

We’ve had quite a bit of interest in these handsome boys, but so far we just haven’t found the right match, and that’s okay. ❤️

We are never in a hurry simply to move a dog out of rescue. Our goal isn’t to find a home - it’s to find the right home. The family and their lifestyle need to be a good fit for the dog, and the dog needs to be a good fit for their family. Sometimes that takes a little extra time.

In the meantime, Woody and Rex are happy, loved, and keeping us very entertained while they wait. ☺️ 🐾

Both boys are sweet, playful, affectionate puppies who would love families ready for all the fun, training, patience, and adventure that comes along with raising a puppy. Rex and Woody both have -

• All age-appropriate vaccinations
• Dewormed
• Neutered
• Lifetime microchip
• Started on heartworm & flea/tick prevention
• Crate training ~ they sleep quietly through the night! 💤
• Doing well with potty training

Apparently we were a day early for $2 Tuesday yesterday, but you all showed up for Hemi anyway! 🥲

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve already raised $164. toward Hemi’s $675.14 veterinary bill, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, shared, and sent their love and well wishes to Hemi. 💛

For anyone who missed Hemi’s story yesterday, our sweet (and spicy) senior thoroughbred managed to injure himself and ended up with a large gash that required an emergency veterinary visit and sutures. He was also started on antibiotics and pain medication while he heals. 🙏

Since today is actually Tuesday 😅, we’re keeping our $2 Tuesday fundraiser going for Hemi!

If you’re able to donate just $2, those small donations truly add up and make such a difference for our sanctuary animals.

Hemi is a retired racehorse who came to us as an owner surrender with his Clydesdale buddy Scratches. They both have a forever home here at the sanctuary. 🐴❤️
