Every community has a vested interest in employing processes and practices that promote and provide for the physical, intellectual, vocational, social and emotional well being of its members. Honoring a Legacy of Leadership and Opportunity

Congratulations to this year's recipients of the Shaw Buck Athletic Scholarship! 🎓

Established by the Groveland High School Alumni Association in honor of longtime teacher and coach Shaw Buck, this scholarship recognizes students who embody the character, determination, and leadership that made Coach Buck such a respected figure in our community.

This year, we're proud to celebrate three outstanding students as they take the next step in their journeys. Two recipients will continue their education while competing in collegiate athletics, one in football and one in soccer, while a third recipient is pursuing career training through the Lineman Bootcamp program right here Lake-Sumter State College .

Though their futures will take them in different directions, each represents the values of hard work and perseverance that this scholarship was created to honor.

Extreme heat can be dangerous for everyone, but older adults and pets are especially vulnerable. As temperatures rise, let’s look out for one another. ☀️

Check in on elderly family members, friends and neighbors. Make sure they have access to air conditioning, plenty of water and any help they may need.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible, provide fresh water and avoid walks during the hottest parts of the day. Remember, if the pavement is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for their paws.

A quick call, visit or thoughtful check-in could make all the difference. That is what community is all about.

Most AI conversations start in the wrong place. They start with a tool, not a decision.

Here's the framework Mighty Manatee IT teaches in every AI Governance session:

Governance. Leadership decides what's acceptable.
Policy. That decision gets written down.
Controls. Technology helps enforce what's already been decided.

Skip straight to controls and you get rules nobody agreed to. Start with governance and everything else falls into place.

One principle ties it together: AI assists. Humans remain accountable.
