VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Mr. David has volunteered every week with us for three years at the food bank and has never missed a drive-thru community distribution. A master of systems and operations, David has helped to create efficiency of service conducting traffic for the drive-thru days and helping our front of house run smoothly, especially on high volume days!

David is the Sabbath-school super intendant at his church, a husband and father of three. He has a strong sense of integrity and makes sure that he honors his commitments. A mainstay, David was introduced to Well of Hope by our own Brother Martin, and has been here ever since, impacting the community that walks through our doors by doing what he calls, “protecting human dignity.”

With his gracious manner, David serves our families in a way that gives the “human touch” to their experience, recognizing as he says, “We don’t know the suffering of each person as they walk through the doors and why they come. So we must act in a way that ensures we are not just giving food, but offering more than that. Love, kindness and patience.”

David also shared how Well of Hope has impacted him as a human being, as he has witnessed the variety of people of diverse backgrounds and situations, health and educational statuses and cultures, it has helped him become more humble, mentally and spiritually grounded, and helped him evaluate himself and the empathy and understanding he carries with him throughout life.

“Well of Hope is more than a food bank. It’s a community where people receive dignity, kindness, smiles and care. They are prayed for if they need and want it. They are seen.”

We are so grateful for our amazing volunteers, and want to offer up a huge thank you to Mr. David E., for his contributions to the Well of Hope communities and helping us empower families and offer the one thing we need most these days: hope.
