Our next day of service is September 26. For the regulars who are so helpful with litter pick up and clean up before the fall festival - we will have the traditional morning only litter gathering.

We have other activities related to the trails and walking paths and other "things that need attention" around town that will take longer but we will still have a lunch break.

We are having our volunteer appreciation lunch so please join us for that and a small gift of appreciation.
We have bird house building for kids.

We had a great day welcoming everyone back to Clemson this week! 🐅

Friends of the Green Crescent Trail had a fantastic time at the Clemson University Welcome Back Festival, meeting students, faculty, staff, and community members and sharing more about the growing trail network that connects our community.

We loved talking with so many people about places to walk, run, bike, explore, and connect throughout Clemson and beyond. Whether you're brand new to Clemson or have called this community home for years, we hope you'll get outside and discover the Green Crescent Trail this fall! 🌳🚲👟

When the road ahead becomes difficult, having an experienced advocate by your side can make all the difference.

Can you walk from Patrick Square to Nettles Park? Turns out it's about 20 minutes, and most of it is prettier than you'd expect.

My dog, Angel and I started at the Village Green, walked past Joe's New York Pizza, Kite Hill Brewery, the Pharmacy and the town center shops, then headed down Thomas Green Blvd to the pond path and across the wooden bridge over 18-Mile Creek.

Here's something a lot of people don't know: the Patrick Square developers built that path and bridge, and the City of Clemson maintains them now under a public recreational easement. Which means it's yours to walk.

On the Nettles side you've got ball fields, dog parks, pickleball, a playground, picnic shelters and plenty of parking. Turn left after the bridge and there are nature trails back there for hiking and mountain biking. More on those in a future video.

The entire path works in reverse too. Park at either Nettles Park or Patrick Square and go whichever direction you like.

This connection is part of the growing Green Crescent Trail network, and we're hoping to get more trailhead and directional signs up soon.

Our Light the Trail 5K is Thursday, Sept. 17 at Patrick Square, presented by Indigo Advisors & Partners. The race route stays inside the neighborhood this time, but you can always keep exploring further on your own.

It's Thursday September 17 at Patrick Square. The 1-mile Fun Run starts at 6pm for $10, the 5K at 7pm for $25. Pick your distance.
