In case you missed last Thursday's E-Newsletter, we had a Volunteer Spotlight which highlighted Kathy Carroll, OLLI's stained glass instructor! Here is a glimpse of the interview:

Working with stained glass has been one of Kathy's passions for over 40 years, and no matter where she goes there is always a spot in her heart (and her house!) for the art. Teaching is her favorite part, which is what inspired Kathy to start volunteering at OLLI and why students love taking her class!

When asked 'what would you say to someone who is considering volunteering at OLLI but isn't sure yet?' Kathy exclaimed, "Just do it! The OLLI catalog always says just approach us because everything is of interest [...] you may think you don't have anything of interest that people would wanna learn about, but everybody does."

Thank you, Kathy, for all you do to keep OLLI's spirit alive! 💗

There’s nothing quite like a warm cup of tea, a hands-on baking experience, and a little flour on the counter to bring people together! ☕🍰✨

OLLI members rolled up their sleeves and embraced the fun (and a little mess!) as they baked classic chocolate chip Mandelbrot, fragrant orange tea cakes, and a surprise tea cake during this delightful OLLI class. The morning was filled with sweet moments and treats to bring home. Thank you to Rose Schecter for leading another great class!

At OLLI at Clemson, learning is always best when it’s hands-on, joyful, and shared with others. 🧡

What a wonderful day of sourdough, learning, and laughter! 🍞✨

Our new hands-on sourdough sandwich loaf bread-making class, led by JeanMarie Gunderson, brought together plenty of curiosity, great conversation, and the delicious smell of fresh bread. Participants left with new baking skills, their own sourdough starter and kit, and the confidence to continue baking at home. 🤎

At OLLI at Clemson, experiences like these remind us that learning is even more meaningful when it’s shared with others. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this fun class and join us next Thursday for another baking class! 👩‍🍳
