Hi everyone! My name is Kaleb Wilson, and I’m the co-Founder and President of Students for Healthcare Reform Society. I’m a Junior Microbiology-Biomedicine major and minoring in Spanish Studies and Non-Profit Leadership. I’m from a small town about an hour away from here called Belton, South Carolina, and I grew up coming to Clemson games as a kid, so my blood definitely runs orange. I got my first job at the young age of fifteen in a small, family-owned pharmacy in the town where I grew up, and it was my initial exposure to the American healthcare system. My second and current job is at the plasma donation center right here in Clemson, and I enjoy it immensely. I have always wanted to work in healthcare, but as I’ve grown into a young adult, I’ve realized how systemically flawed our healthcare system truly is. I believe that we, as the upcoming generation of leaders, have a duty to make it known that we demand a better healthcare system for us, for our parents, for our children, and for our children’s children, so that no one will be forced to face the healthcare-related hardships those before us had to experience. I strive to see a political and cultural change in our country, so that all Americans have access to quality, affordable medical care throughout our great nation. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and hearing about why you want to make a difference. I am so honored to have the privilege of starting this organization, and I can’t wait to see the progress I know we will make.
