The NCSRT is currently engaged with HB590 on the local front, but it is important to stay abreast of legislation affecting our profession nationwide. The Medicare Access to Radiology Act (MARCA) has been proposed in the U.S. Senate, and we need YOUR action to help get it passed.

"The Medicare Access to Radiology Care Act has been introduced in the U.S. Senate. MARCA will help improve access to radiology care by ensuring radiologists receive Medicare reimbursement for services provided by radiologist assistants, supervised by a radiologist as part of a radiologist-led team. ASRT supports this important step to strengthen patient access and recognizes the value of medical imaging professionals. Please contact your federal lawmakers and ask them to support MARCA. Visit the ASRT Advocacy Action Center to contact your federal lawmakers and ask them to support MARCA." Quoted from ASRT Communities.

By visiting the ASRT Advocacy Action Center, a letter has already been prepared for you to send directly to your state’s U.S. Senators. Simply enter your information, personalize if desired, and click send. You can also find the link here: https://votervoice.net/ASRT/Campaigns/96772/Respond

Your voice and advocacy can help advance this important legislation and improve access to radiology care for patients across the country.

We are continuing to closely monitor the progress of HB 590, Enhancing Patient Safety in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, as it moves through the legislative process. Our advocacy efforts remain strong, and we are actively engaging with lawmakers to ensure they understand the importance of this bill and its impact on patient safety and our profession. As the bill advances, we will keep you informed on key updates and next steps, including opportunities for continued member involvement.

Advocacy Day on Wednesday, April 29 was a huge success. We had 125 participants join us at the Capitol, where we connected directly with legislators and their staff. Together, we provided valuable information to 50 senators, helping to raise awareness and strengthen support for HB 590.

Congratulations to Chloe Mitchell, the winner of the $500 gift giveaway for signing up and attending Advocacy Day. Thanks to everyone who came and helped make the event a success.

This level of engagement demonstrates the power of our collective voice. We will continue to advocate for patient safety, professional standards, and the future of medical imaging and radiation therapy in North Carolina.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to advocacy.

Thank you all for attending the 2026 NCSRT Advocacy Day at the State Capitol! It was truly an amazing day, and it was inspiring to see so many dedicated professionals come together with a shared purpose.

Your time, effort, and passion in supporting House Bill 590 and advocating for its passage in the Senate do not go unnoticed. Because of your commitment, we are one step closer to making a meaningful impact for our profession and the patients we serve.

A special thank you to one of our bill sponsors, Senator Timothy Moffitt, for all his hard work helping us present this bill to the legislature. Thank you also to our lobbyists who helped make Advocacy Day possible: Debbie Clary, Lee Teague, and Josie Clary.

Email follow-ups are a must. It’s one more time that you have a reason to reach out, if simply to say thank you for your time or say sorry we missed the meeting and reiterate your request for support of professional licensure and safety standards. Always let a member know that you are happy to answer any questions they have.

Thank you again for taking time out of your busy schedules to support this important cause. Your voice matters, and together, we are making a difference. If you have any questions regarding our bill, please contact Wendy Weaver at [email protected].

Thank YOU for helping make this year's NCSRT Annual Conference a huge success!

With over 400 attendees in-person and virtually, this was one of the largest conferences we have hosted to date! 15 cutting-edge CE sessions were offered, spotlighting topics like patience care, remote scanning and AI, and how to start your leadership journey. We hosted 18 sponsors to provide recruitment opportunities for students, and to showcase developing medical imaging technologies across our state. Our NCSRT Gives Back project collected over 550 items and $380 to donate to the local charity Junior Charity League of Concord. Our Advocacy Committee reported over 150 registrants for our upcoming Advocacy Day in Raleigh on April 29th. We honored two NCSRT Life Members, and inducted another for 2026. And overall had an amazing conference!

All of these incredible accomplishments spotlight the work that the NCSRT is doing to make your membership in our society worthwhile, and to provide an Annual Conference you will never forget! This would not be possible without our incredible members and volunteers - we thank each and every one of you for helping make this year's conference a reality!

If you missed out this year, the 2027 Annual Conference will be hosted again in Concord, NC at the Great Wolf Lodge April 21-23rd, 2027! Keep an eye out for registration later this year, and we hope to see you there!
