This. THIS right here is what rescuers end up with because you JUST HAD TO HAVE that designer dog. When you buy just ONE dog from a "breeder", they have made enough money from your p**s-poor judgment to toss the rest of the litter in a dumpster, let them drown in a pond, or leave them in a rural area to fend for themselves. And the mama dog? She's sitting in a cage with no clean water and just enough food to get by, covered in her own s**t and p**s. When she comes in heat again, she will be bred repeatedly.

Pepper needs your help. Pepper is a four-year-old doodle. He is sweet, adorable, gentle, and perfect, at least personality wise. Structurally, Pepper is a mess. Think 80-year-old retired football player with bad knees and bad hips. Pepper is the way he is because of poor breeding. It should be a crime to create dogs like this and then leave someone else to pick up the pieces but it is not. The morons out there breeding doodles using giant breeds of questionable orthopedic integrity with poodles so people can have a berner doodle make my head hurt. As it is, we fix what lands on our doorstep. The good news is that Pepper can be fixed.
Pepper has a dislocated hip that needs surgical repair due to dysplasia. Once that is addressed, we have to deal with his knees, and his knees are not a simple fix. He needs both ACL work and patella work because nothing in his bone structure is where it is supposed to be. This is complicated enough that his repair will require 3D printed bone guides from Purdue University’s vet school.
When he is through all of this, he should be able to live pain free and have a long, healthy, happy life. We are going to handle this in increments because the total cost is too painful to contemplate all at once and each surgery will be a standalone repair. Right now, we need to raise money for his hip repair and the CT scan needed to plan the knee surgeries. That first step alone will be in excess of $6,000.
