Thank you to Coloring Sunshine for helping to stock us up. We were able to give one to all 75 kiddos in the kids area here at Life Raft.

These are so special and we are so blessed and honored to have them stocked in our resource center ❤️

Today we are at Life Raft: The Road to Healing with Seven Homes Foster Care & Adoption , alongside foster and adoptive parents as they continue walking this incredible journey.

We ask that you pray for these parents as they move through each session learning, healing, growing, and preparing for all that this journey holds.

This is truly one of our favorite times of the year for Fostering Faith Foundation. There is something so special about being surrounded by parents who have said yes to loving children through some of the hardest parts of their stories. It isn’t always an easy road, but there is so much love, hope, and faith in this room.

Resources like Life Raft matter. Having a place where foster and adoptive parents can be equipped, encouraged, and reminded that they don’t have to walk this road alone is such a gift.

Please keep these families in your prayers today. There is a whole lot of love and faith in this room 🩵

Sometimes, the need comes through in a simple text:

“I know this is a long shot, but do you happen to have…?”

Maybe it’s something very specific. Something a foster family or social worker has already searched store after store for with no luck. And sometimes, it’s something we don’t normally carry at Fostering Faith Foundation.

But that doesn’t mean the answer is “Sorry, we don’t have it.”

It means, “Let us see what we can do.”

Sometimes serving looks like walking the aisles of one store…and then another…and then a third. It looks like checking shelves, asking employees, making phone calls, and refusing to give up quite yet.

And then you find it.

That little moment of “There it is!” brings a sigh of relief, not just for us, but for the family or social worker who has already been carrying the weight of trying to find it.

Because sometimes what seems like just an item is actually one less thing for a foster parent to worry about. One less task on an overwhelmed social worker’s list. One small way to make a child’s transition a little easier.

We may not have everything sitting on our shelves. But if a child or family we serve needs something, we’re going to do our best to help find it.

Because that’s what community looks like. That’s what showing up looks like.

And sometimes, loving our neighbors looks a whole lot like walking into store number three and praying the thing you’ve been searching for is finally sitting on that shelf.

Today, we’re not asking for anything. We’re simply asking you to pray with us.

•Pray for the child waking up somewhere unfamiliar this morning.
•Pray for the mother or father working incredibly hard toward reunification.
•Pray for the grandparent who unexpectedly became a parent again.
•Pray for the foster family wondering if they’re doing enough.
•Pray for the social worker carrying stories home that they can’t simply leave at the office.
•Pray for siblings separated by circumstances they didn’t choose.
•Pray for the teenager wondering what happens when they turn 18.
•Pray for the young adult who aged out and is trying to figure out adulthood without the safety net so many of us take for granted.
•And pray for the people quietly working behind the scenes to make this system a little gentler for the children and families walking through it.

There are so many parts of foster care we cannot fix with a donation, a bag of clothing or a stocked shelf.

But we can pray.

So today, wherever you are, would you take just a moment and help us cover this community in prayer?

God knows every name. Every story. Every fear. Every unanswered question. And every child. 💗

A child walks through our doors just 30 minutes after their entire world has changed.

They may come in quiet. They may come in crying. They may be angry, scared, overwhelmed or honestly, absolutely nothing to do with us or anything we have to offer.

And that’s okay. Because sometimes, little by little, something catches their eye.

Maybe it’s a Squishmallow tucked on a shelf. A baby doll they immediately reach for. A pair of pajamas with their favorite character. A book about adventures. A basketball. A Barbie. A brand new pair of Van shoes in their favorite color.

And suddenly, we get a tiny glimpse of who they are.

What makes these moments even more meaningful is that often, the foster family standing beside them is learning right along with us.

Thirty minutes earlier, they may have received a phone call or text with only a few sentences: an age, a clothing size, maybe a name and a little bit of their story. Then suddenly, there is a child standing in front of them whom they have said yes to without knowing their favorite color, what makes them laugh, what they love, what comforts them, or what makes them feel like themselves.

Sometimes a Squishmallow or baby doll is how we discover what brings a smile. Sometimes a pair of pajamas starts the first conversation…….And sometimes, in the middle of one of the hardest days of a child’s life, choosing something that is completely and entirely theirs is the first little piece of control they’ve had all day.

These are the reason we keep showing up.
Because sometimes the smallest thing really does make the biggest difference.
