A little time can make a big difference.

Volunteering with Meals on Wheels means more than delivering a meal- it means delivering connection, kindness, and a reminder that someone cares.

"If you can be a volunteer, be a volunteer. I don't think anybody can do better than being a volunteer or supporter of Meals on Wheels." says Helen. She shares a special connection with the volunteers who deliver her meals and has meaningful stories to share about each one.

Give an hour. Share a smile. Make a difference.

"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the meals."

For Margaret, Meals on Wheels provides more than nutrition—they’re also a vital connection to her community.

“I just stay at home right here,” she says. At 93-years-old, she’s no longer able to leave home, so she’s especially grateful for the friendly visits from volunteers.

Working together, we can create more lifelines for seniors like Margaret! You can make a difference by volunteering or making a donation: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/gensu/

Extreme Heat Advisory. Please check on an older neighbor.

Extreme heat can be especially dangerous for older adults. They may not adjust to rapid temperature changes as quickly, and existing health conditions can make the heat even more challenging.

Today, take a few minutes to check on the older adults in your life:
Make sure they have plenty of water.
Encourage them to stay indoors in a cool space.
Remind them to wear loose, lightweight clothing.
Watch for signs of dehydration or heat stress, including dizziness, weakness, headaches, nausea, vomiting, and muscle cramps.

For our Meals on Wheels volunteers, your visit today is more important than ever. You’re not just delivering a meal—you’re checking in on a neighbor and helping make sure they’re safe.

Beat the heat. Check on a senior.

More than 22 years of volunteering -- dedication, commitment, and a lasting investment in others.

For Charlie and Helen, the smiles of the seniors they served made every moment worthwhile. Today, Helen is no longer with us, and Charlie is a Meals on Wheels recipient. Through Planned Giving, their commitment to caring for others continues.

August is Make-A-Will Month, but the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy continues year-round.

In case you missed it!

Meet Sherrell.
Her story shows the importance of a hot meal and friendly visit in the lives of our senior neighbors.

We're working hard to make a difference in our community, but we need your help. Watch, share, or join us in the fight against senior hunger and isolation.

The nonprofit said it had to freeze enrollment as it works to secure what's needed for those already in its care.

Every time our phone rings, we hope we'll be able to say, "Yes, we can help."

But right now, we're forced to say the words no one should ever hear:

"I'm sorry, you'll have to wait."

Behind every call is someone who is hungry, isolated, or simply trying to remain independent in the home they love. They're not asking for anything extravagant. They're asking for a meal, a friendly face, and the reassurance that someone cares.

We believe every senior deserves to hear, "We're on our way."

Your generosity can help make that possible.

Donate today and help us say "yes" to more seniors. https://secure.qgiv.com/for/northtexasgivingdayearlygiving/

Every day, more senior neighbors call, hoping to hear the words, "Yes, we can help."

But right now - we can't.

Due to overwhelming demand and limited funding, we've had to pause new enrollments while we work to serve those already in our care.

A meal is more than food. It's a wellness check, a friendly face, and the support that helps older adults remain healthy and independent.
*$12 feeds a neighbor for one day.
*$60 feeds a neighbor for one week.
*$240 feeds a neighbor for one month.

North Texas Giving Day is almost here, but you don't have to wait to make a difference. Your gift brings us one step closer to reopening enrollment and welcoming another senior neighbor home to Meals on Wheels.

Provide a YES! https://secure.qgiv.com/for/northtexasgivingdayearlygiving/

“We are grateful for Meals on Wheels. They have been a huge help.”

Words we often hear, but never take for granted. Words shared with us by Gina in response to the service her mom, Bernadine receives.

Meals on Wheels is about more than delivering a meal. It's about compassion, service, independence, and trust. It's about giving seniors the support they need to remain safely at home while providing their families with peace of mind, knowing someone is checking in and caring for the people they love.

Your generosity makes moments like these possible. Show your support for our senior neighbors today: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/gensu/

We're excited to share a new way to support our senior neighbors — without changing how you spend.

Every time you make a purchase, your total is rounded up to the nearest dollar, and the spare change goes to support our neighbors. Grab a coffee, fill the tank, buy groceries — it all adds up to meaningful, ongoing support.

Even better: for a limited time, each new donor who signs up and rounds up for at least 3 months unlocks an additional $25 donation!
