🚨 EXCITING NEWS FOR WAXAHACHIE! 🚨

Last night was a historic night for Waxahachie Fire-Rescue! The Waxahachie City Council officially approved four-person staffing on our fire apparatus and authorized the use of the SAFER Grant to help make this important investment in our community possible.

👨‍🚒👩‍🚒 Four firefighters on an apparatus means:
• More firefighters available when seconds matter
• Greater safety for our citizens & firefighters
• Faster, more effective fireground operations
• Stronger compliance with national fire service staffing standards
• A better-equipped response system for a rapidly growing Waxahachie

This decision is about much more than numbers on a staffing chart. It is about having the right number of firefighters in the right place at the right time to protect our citizens and each other.
The SAFER Grant provides $3.87 million to support the addition of 15 firefighters, allowing Waxahachie Fire-Rescue to strengthen our staffing model while making a responsible investment in the future of our community.
We are incredibly grateful to Mayor, City Council, City leadership, and our community for recognizing the importance of four-person staffing and for supporting the men and women who answer the call every day.
This is a major step forward for Waxahachie Fire-Rescue and the citizens we are honored to serve.

Getting fired up in Wichita Falls at the Sandy McGhee Leadership Meeting, a joint event hosted by the IAFF 11th District and TSAFF. Good to spend time with fire fighter leaders from Texas and Oklahoma, share ideas, and bring useful information back to our 5th District locals.
