Just editing to add that his blood transfusion was meant to buy us time to try one last treatment approach before making a decision. He's not better but he feels better if that makes sense. We're so grateful that the team at BAEH was available and did such an amazing job with him.

UPDATE 10/14 10:50AM Frankie definitely feels better today, so we bought time to try one last treatment. Obviously, we're struggling to cover the emergency visit, so I'm really worried about what the steroid we need is going to cost. EU and cremation is several hundred dollars as well, so while I'm happy he's feeling better today, I'm honestly feeling pretty hopeless. I think this is the end of what we can do and we're rapidly running out of time.

UPDATE 10/13 4:55PM Our boy is with me! ❤️ His lungs are fine. He's eating and drinking and feeling notably better. Everyone seems to be leaning towards some kind of marrow cancer. We have one more option to try to see if he responds and if he doesn't, we'll assume that's what it is and arrange for him to cross the bridge. Please keep praying for him. Please share for funds. Thankfully, the final bill for hospitalization wasn't as bad as we feared but it's still significantly more than we have. I think the most we've ever raised for a cat was $1300-ish and that was an anomaly. We just don't have the reach and support big rescues with wealthy backers do. We're so grateful for any help at all.

UPDATE 10/13 2:00PM the daytime vet just called and shared that Frankie did well with his transfusion and he's back in the 20% values. He's feeling better but they noticed him coughing a bit so they're going to do chest X-rays and we can talk about a discharge plan. As you can see, we're not doing well raising funds. This is a pretty clear sign to me from the community. We're so incredibly grateful to everyone who's donated so far and to those who've reached out to me to offer support and prayers.

UPDATE 10/13 9:00AM Frankie was doing well with his transfusion. We should learn more later today. I'm at work today and I have clients this evening, so I'm doing my best to keep everyone updated but it would be really helpful if y'all could share and help me push for donations. We're not making much progress.

UPDATE 10/13 1:30AM he's staying to get a transfusion so he'll feel better and we can decide what to do. I'll keep y'all updated. This will be about $4200. Any donations at all are appreciated. I know we're not going to manage that much but we can try. 💔

It's not looking good for Franklin, y'all. He's not getting enough oxygen to his cells. Nothing is working. We can't afford a transfusion, but we're going to try to raise the funds. Maybe there's a miracle left for us. I so badly don't want this to be his last night. 💔 We're at the Burleson Animal Emergency Clinic. The estimate is $6500-ish if they can do the transfusion. I'll keep y'all updated. Ways to donate are in the comments.

Great big THANK YOU! to Abigail and Blanc for donating! We feel a little bit like we're drowning right now, so every single dollar helps. With Frankie needing help again, several kitties needing blood work so we can clear them off FIP treatment observation, and other kitties needing vaccines, etc., plus the upcoming event all happening, it feels impossible. We appreciate every single donation of time, effort, and very hard earned funds. ❤️

Frankie is excited about food again, and that's a good sign. He has a follow-up appointment to see if his body has started making new red blood cells. Paws crossed the increased steroid dose is working!!! He's still very very thin. We're working so hard to get him what he needs. Please keep praying and sending good vibes and healing intentions.

We had so much fun at the Dogs and Doggies event! Thank you, Foundation Of Caring Animal Supporters for inviting us. ❤️ Amazing support for the community and fun times! Tank had a really good time and even made me get his dad out of bed to come pick him up because he didn't want to get in the car on his own. 😂 *ordering dog ramp as we speak*

Sweet Rice is going home this weekend too! It's been a really tough year but these celebrations are EVERYTHING!!! My heart is hurting from our losses and trying to help Frankie and having to say no every single day to animals in need but these moments when our precious little ones finally get their forever families are pure magic. ❤️
