We were delighted and proud to have International President A.P. Singh tour TLERC on Thursday, May 28!!! We asked if he could place his International pin on our world map on his home town in India. After showing him the 10,000 sq ft facility, he took off his jacket and helped sort glasses! I was impressed with his eagerness to jump in and help. We were also proud to have IPID TJ, PID Mike Butler and DG Aaron Urias accompany President Singh.

We provided 25 pairs of OTC reading glasses and non-Rx sunglasses to those in need. We also handed out lots of unused eyeglass cases and cleaning cloths. I was proud to represent TLERC as a speaker at the New Mexico State Lions Convention in Carlsbad this weekend! DG Frankie Davis and ID Melissa invited me to tell NM Lions about how TLERC processes eyeglasses, then we sorted glasses for about 30 minutes. The NM Lions were very interested and it was a great Convention. ! I enjoyed PIP Douglas Alexander presentation about LCIF and our Friday night BBQ with a live band. Thank you for the opportunity to promote TLERC. I loved spending time with Lion friends.

I'm happy to report that Southwest University in El Paso has read 144 pairs of glasses for TLERC! The Opthalmic Assistant class/program students are obtaining skills and experience while providing a service for TLERC. We appreciate SWU contributions to help us provide used glasses to Missions and readers to the community. University
