🛢️ What’s the connection between Croatia and the birth of the oil age?

Believe it or not — it all started with a man from Split. 🇭🇷
His name was Antun Lučić, known in America as Anthony F. Lucas.
In 1901, in the fields of Spindletop, Texas, his drilling rig struck a powerful oil gusher — the first of its kind in the world.

That single moment changed history forever — launching the modern petroleum industry and shaping the 20th century.
Thanks to a Croatian engineer, the world entered the age of cars, planes, and global trade.

To this day, Anthony F. Lucas is remembered as “The Father of the American Oil Industry.”

From Split to Texas — a Croatian name that fueled the world. 🔥🇭🇷

📌 Help us grow this community and keep our history alive. Follow and share our heritage with the world!
