What to do and not do if your plants were damaged by the cold.

According to UF/IFAS, the most crucial action for treating cold-damaged plants is to not prune immediately. Leave dead, brown, or black foliage in place to insulate the plant from further damage, After a freeze, check the soil around your plants. Plants may not be getting the water they need if the soil has dried out or if the water in the soil is frozen. Avoid fertilizing until spring, and wait to prune until new growth appears, ensuring live wood is not removed. For more information:
