SACHE SACHE = Set Apart Christian Home Educators
Unique one day a week drop off homeschool co-op Starting in the fall of 2024. Cost is $50 per student.

VISION STATEMENT OF “SACHE”
SACHE is a 1 day a week drop off co-op in Clearwater, Mn. For, but not limited to, the Clearwater, Clear Lake, Annandale, Monticello, St Augusta, St Cloud area. This is a unique co-op in that parents drop off kids and we facilitate, help, and keep them on the lesson plans that the parents have made for them, with the curriculum that the parents have chosen. Parents wil

l also have control of reporting to their school district as well as state testing. There is also the opportunity for parents to stay and help. Students can also use this time as a change of scenery or study hall. We will have and need tutors/parents to volunteer and help kids with any work they are struggling with. The number of tutors we need is dependent on how many kids/members we have enrolled. Every morning at 8:30am we will begin our day together as a group, all ages, and have a time of teaching and possible worship. As this will be our main focus, to spread the love of Christ and be the light to those in our co-op as well as the community. The long term vision is to eventually offer specialized classes. For example music, science, art etc., that either a parent will teach or someone that specializes in the particular area. Location is Tri County Alliance Church in Clearwater. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8am to 3pm. 1st grade to 12th grade. If you have any questions, and want more details, please feel free to contact me. SACHE Statement of Faith
The purpose of our Co-Op is to provide information, inspiration, and support to Christian homeschool families. We as members have proposed that this organization and all of its activities will consistently give glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ. Bible: We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God, the Supreme and final authority for all faith and life. Christ: We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension and His imminent bodily return in power and glory. Creation: We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone can be saved. God: We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit: We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict man, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for Godly living and service. Marriage: According to Biblical design, we believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. Salvation: We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose substitutionary death on the cross paid the penalty for man’s sin. Spiritual Unity of Believers: We believe in the spiritual unity of believers through our common faith in Jesus Christ and that individual denominational differences which may exist should not hinder the unity of Christian home educators.

A few days ago, we asked which subjects you prefer your child to learn in a group setting—science was a popular response! There are some things that are best taught in a group - such as choir or theatre - or by someone with a passion or expertise.

That’s exactly what we had in mind when planning our fall classes. We’ve chosen:

🔬 Science labs - all supplies provided and taught by an instructor who is passionate about it
💼 Career and financial classes—these are electives that we know are important but are often hard to fit in at home with the core subjects
🎭 Theatre class - students can build confidence and communication skills in a group setting, led by an experienced theatre director who’s worked with hundreds of kids

These aren’t just classes—they’re opportunities for your child to grow with the support of a community and instructors who love what they teach.

We also kept a few practical things in mind:
💲Affordable pricing – We’ve kept costs as low as possible while still fairly compensating our instructors and covering expenses (including supplies).
📆 Flexible format – To make classes more accessible for families who live farther away, our classes range between 2-8 weeks so you are not committing to an entire semester or year of a long commute.

Spots are still available! The registration deadline is August 25, but we’d love it if you could register early—it really helps with our planning.

By the age of 8 or 10 most children have figured out reading. Some have needed massive amounts of help and some almost none at all. Some will come to love curling up in a corner on their own to devour the latest chapter book. Others will become competent but never choose to sit still that long. Many will find that audio books are more engaging for the way their brain works. Some will love fiction, and others will just want "the facts, Ma'am".

No matter the learner, at the end of the day, their future bosses, professors, or spouse won't be making their judgment about your child, now grown, on what age the reading light bulb came on.

So, Mom, if you have a young learner, don't push it. Your now three year old won't be "smarter" and more successful because they knew and could write their letters at this age. Your six year old wiggly boy who isn't reading yet will get there. Celebrate all of the things your children have and are learning. Enjoy the journey of childhood with them in all of its stages and light bulb moments. You won't regret it.

Always here to encourage you! ~ Nancy

FORMS - Day 4 - Did you know? In the state of Minnesota homeschoolers have an added bonus from the Department of Revenue. Your homeschool is considered a "School" in their eyes and is eligible to be tax exempt. This means that you can receive a tax ID number allowing you to make purchases for your homeschool WITHOUT paying sales tax. That can be a savings of about 7-almost 10% for ALL of your school purchases at any retailer.

We have made the process quick and simple by providing you the forms and line-by-line instructions right on our website. It literally takes about 4 minutes!! We have seen people have their ID # in hand in about 2-3 weeks after submission. https://legacyhomeschool.com/index.php?main_page=tax_exempt

So, NOW'S the time to get that letter sent so you have your number for your back-to-school purchases! JUST DO IT!

Once you get your number, open your phone to "contacts". Create a new contact with your school name and the 7 digit number. Now you'll be able to find it with a quick search anytime you want to register it with any retailer. Easy!

📄 FORMS - Day 3

People often ask about getting reimbursed by the state for educational expenses.Yes, Minnesota will give you a small allotment if you turn in the Aid to Nonpublic Students form along with your Letter of Intent by October 1.

The 2025-26 allotment is $132.98 per student for standardized test and instructional materials. They may not be used for religious materials. Based on the district’s interpretation of the statute, some also will NOT pay for teacher’s guides and solution manuals.

Each school district decides how to process this allotment. Some allow you to just turn in receipts during the school year, and they write you a check. Others make you bring in the materials for their inspection. Some ask you to prepare your order, and they actually order it for you from the vendor of your choice.

We, at Heppner’s Legacy, often work with districts in this way.

You need to contact your local school district to find out how they work this.

The next few days we'll have posts about various forms you might need in MN as homeschoolers. The Letter of Intent to Homeschool and Vaccination Form are required. The other two are optional and have to do with saving money. 😊

Today - Letter of Intent to Homeschool
This is the form required by law to be turned in to your local school district for any child who is age 7 by October 1 of that school year. If you are new to homeschooling or have moved to a new district recently, you would use the Initial Report to Superintendent. If you are continuing homeschooling, you will use the Letter of Intent to Continue Homeschooling.
This link will provide you with the forms as well as instructions from our website.
