🦋 Respect doesn’t begin when a child becomes an adult. It begins with how we treat them today.
At The Living Lab Inc., our core values are built around respect for the child—not only the expectation that children respect adults.
Their voices matter. Their feelings deserve care. Their boundaries deserve consideration. And their mistakes deserve guidance that protects their dignity.
We can hold clear limits while listening with love:
💛 “You can feel angry. I will help you keep everyone safe.”
💛 “I hear your ‘no.’ Let’s talk about what needs to happen and what you can choose.”
💛 “I made a mistake, too. I’m sorry.”
Through our Four Corners—Self-Care, Healthy Habits, Mindful Methods, and Sensory Healing—we create opportunities for children to understand themselves and practice caring for others. Respect is something we model and build together. 🌱
🎨 DIY Family Activity: Our Respect Garden
Grab paper and crayons. Draw a flower for each family member, letting children draw, write, or share their answers aloud.
On the petals, finish these sentences:
🌼 I feel heard when…
🌼 Before touching or borrowing my things, please…
🌼 When I’m upset, it helps when…
🌼 One way I can show respect is…
Adults, make a flower, too! Listen without correcting someone’s feelings, then choose one request you can honor together this week. Display your garden as a reminder that every person in this family deserves room to grow.
Our children are learning how to treat others through the way we treat them. Let’s give them respect they can feel—and carry forward. 🦋
