Dead manatee found late Thurs 9/24 in Stevenson creek near the corner of Apache Trail and Calumet Street near Marshall plant and pump station. Reported to FWC and city authorities. Just days after a spill but conditions reflect some physical trauma. So sad. Will post when more is known.

UPDATE: FWC removed the carcus by towing from a kayak and disposed on an island in harbor.
Cause of death - undetermined. Decomposition was to much to tell.

Where do you think this is? Lots of sea grass for manatee. We'd like Stevenson creek to look like this. But propellers stirring the extremely shallow bottom prevents sea grasses .
