What could a few hours of your time each month mean to another Veteran?

More than you might think.

It could mean having someone to call when civilian life feels unfamiliar.

Someone who understands military culture without needing it explained.

Someone who can listen, offer encouragement and help connect them with resources.

The Florida Veterans Coalition is looking for Veterans willing to become Peer Mentors and help fellow Veterans through transition and the challenges that can come afterward.

You don't need to be an expert.
You don't need to know every VA program.
You don't need to solve every problem.

You just need to be willing to be there.
A few hours a month could make a lasting difference.

We’re honored to welcome Beau Blouin, U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Vice President of Operations with the Florida Veterans Coalition, as a speaker at our upcoming Lunch & Learn.

A veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, Beau brings a perspective shaped by military service, leadership, community involvement, and a continued commitment to helping others.

Today, his service continues in a different form — working to connect veterans with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to move forward.

Join us for an opportunity to hear from Beau, learn from his experiences, and have a meaningful conversation about what it means to continue serving long after the uniform comes off.

We look forward to seeing you at the Lunch & Learn. Visit the link in the comments to purchase tickets.

You served. You learned. You adapted. Now your experience could help another Veteran find their way forward.

Leaving the military can bring a whole new set of questions.

Where do I go from here?
How do I navigate civilian life?
Who can I talk to who actually understands?

That’s where a Peer Mentor can make a difference.

The Florida Veterans Coalition Peer Mentor Program connects Veterans with Veterans — because sometimes the person who can help the most is someone who has already walked a similar road.

You don’t have to have all the answers.

You just have to be willing to listen, encourage, connect and show up.

Your next mission could be helping another Veteran succeed.

“When I got out, I didn’t even know I was a Veteran.”

For two years after leaving the Army, Dottie Adams didn’t realize the resources and benefits available to her.

Today, she helps make sure other Veterans don’t have to navigate that journey alone.

As the Florida Veterans Coalition’s State Director of Veteran Resources, Dottie helps transitioning service members, Veterans, widows, and military families better understand and access the resources they’ve earned.

🎤 Hear Dottie’s story at the Florida Veterans Coalition Lunch & Learn.

Her journey is a powerful reminder of exactly why programs like Operation Safe Landing matter.

A MONUMENTAL DAY FOR FLORIDA’S VETERANS — AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.

Yesterday, we celebrated more than an accomplishment. We celebrated what can happen when a community comes together with one mission: To make Florida the best place in America to be a Veteran.

At the Florida Veterans Coalition headquarters in Seminole, we were honored to welcome state legislators, board members, community leaders, VIP guests, friends, family, staff, and many of the incredible people who have poured their time, energy, and hearts into building this organization.

And together, we celebrated a major milestone:

Operation Safe Landing is officially a $500,000 state-funded program serving Veterans, transitioning service members, and their families across ALL 67 Florida counties.

This investment represents something much bigger than a number.

It means that when a service member takes off the uniform and begins the next chapter of life, Florida is going to be ready to roll out the red carpet.

Not a maze of disconnected resources.

Not a list of phone numbers.

A real pathway forward — connecting Veterans and their families with the resources, organizations, opportunities, and support they need to successfully transition into civilian life.

We are incredibly grateful to the state senator and representative who helped champion this effort and drive this appropriation across the finish line, and to every legislator, partner, board member, supporter, volunteer, staff member, friend, and family member who believed in what the Florida Veterans Coalition could become.

You helped make this possible.

But today wasn't the finish line.

It was the starting line.

As we move into FY 2026–2027, our vision is statewide. 67 counties. One Florida. One mission.

We believe Florida can set the standard for how a state welcomes home, supports, connects, and empowers those who have served our country.

And we're ready to get to work.

Some speakers inspire.

Some challenge the way you think.

Robby Groover does both.

As President & CEO of the Florida Veterans Coalition, Robby has dedicated his life to helping Veterans build successful futures after military service. Before leading the organization, he served our nation as a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan and earning the Purple Heart after being wounded in combat. Today, he brings those leadership lessons into the boardroom, helping businesses and communities work together to make a real difference.

Join us on September 9 as Robby shares how collaboration, purpose, and leadership can strengthen not only the Veteran community—but businesses and organizations across Florida.

And we're not done...

More exciting speakers will be announced soon.

Some heroes carry home memories. Others carry home scars.

On Purple Heart Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. The Purple Heart is more than a medal—it's a symbol of extraordinary courage, resilience, and sacrifice.

Today, we invite you to take a moment to remember those who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

đź’ś If you know a Purple Heart recipient, share their name or story in the comments so we can honor them together.

To every Purple Heart recipient and their families: Thank you. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten!
