Today, June 12, marks the anniversary of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act of 1948—the groundbreaking day women officially earned their permanent place in the United States Military.
🎖️✨Did you know? Florida is proud home to the second-highest population of women veterans in the nation, with over 162,000 female heroes living right here in the Sunshine State! From the front lines to essential support roles, women have broken barriers and shaped our nation's history with resilience, courage, and unwavering patriotism.

At the Florida Veterans Coalition, we don't just thank our veterans with words—we stand beside them with action. We are committed to ensuring our sister veterans have access to health care, transition resources, career support, and the recognition they earned.💬

Many people believe veterans have all the support they need after military service. The reality is that too many veterans in our community face homelessness, isolation, health challenges, and financial hardship.

Join Operation: Veteran Connect for a complimentary Community Lunch and hear from Colonel DJ Reyes, Deputy Executive Director of the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs, as he shares insights on the challenges veterans face and how we can come together to support them.

This Sunday, May 31, 2026, we need our community to show up in a big way for our Veterans.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Flag Retirement 🇺🇸
📍 Bay Pines National Cemetery

⏰ 8:30 AM SHARP

We are calling on volunteers to help respectfully retire the thousands of flags placed in honor of our fallen heroes. This mission is only possible when our community stands together, and continued support will help ensure this tradition can continue year after year.

Please report to the Bay Pines Cemetery at 8:30 AM for bundling instructions and supplies. Bring a rag/gloves if you can it will help with handling the flags throughout the morning.

If you’ve ever wanted a simple but meaningful way to honor those who gave everything for our country, this is it. Bring your family, friends, coworkers, church groups, and anyone willing to serve beside us.

Let’s come together and show our Veterans and their families that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
