Now in its 47th year, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday brings thousands of fans to Coachman Park for a multiday celebration of live music. This year's event is Oct. 15 to 18 at Coachman Park. The festival has evolved from a series of concerts on the back of a flatbed truck and at venues around Clearwater into an annual international music festival that draws tens of thousands of visitors each year to bright and beautiful Coachman Park.

The festival features a combination of legendary and relevant musical artists and a gathering of an amazingly diverse fan base. Legendary jazz artists who have performed in Clearwater include Woody Herman, Buddy Rich, Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Mann, Dave Brubeck, Tito Puente, Stéphane Grappelli, Stan Getz, and the Count Basie Orchestra.

Adopt-a-Drain Volunteer Appreciation and Recruitment Night

Nearly 60 storm drains have been adopted in Clearwater in less than a year. Celebrate the residents who made it possible at the Adopt-a-Drain Volunteer Appreciation and Recruitment Night from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 21 on the Clearwater Main Library rooftop.

The event will feature volunteer awards, sustainability initiatives, stories from drain adopters, snacks, spooky stories and sunset views. Those interested in adopting a drain can learn how the program helps reduce localized flooding, improve water quality and support biodiversity.

The sounds of seagulls and gentle waves on Clearwater Beach will be replaced by the thrilling roar of approximately 90 race boats competing in the 2026 Xinsurance Clearwater Offshore Nationals, held Sept. 25 to 27.
Specially built, low-slung boats up to 50 feet long will race at speeds up to 150 mph in the Gulf. The competition for national championships will be fierce as boats and crews vie to qualify for the World Championships in Key West in November.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 21, the south side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway Pedestrian Trail from Bayshore Boulevard to Dr. Kiran C. Patel Boulevard will close for approximately two weeks, weather permitting. The closure is necessary for crews to install overhead structures for the Courtney Campbell Causeway pedestrian overpass.

Follow posted signs, use caution and plan an alternate route. Thank you for your patience during construction.

Water Maintenance Program Runs Sept. 21 Through Oct. 10
Water Maintenance Program
The second segment of the 2026 Water Maintenance Program runs Sept. 21 through Oct. 10. During this routine maintenance period, Pinellas County Utilities and the city of Clearwater temporarily switch drinking water disinfection from chloramines to chlorine to help maintain the integrity of the water distribution system. The water remains safe to drink and meets all federal and state standards.
Some customers may notice a stronger chlorine odor or taste. Running the tap for a few minutes, allowing a pitcher of water to sit for several hours or using a carbon filter may help. Users of kidney dialysis equipment and owners of fish or other aquatic life should contact their service providers for guidance.

Specially-built speed boats up to 50 feet long will race at speeds up to 150 miles per hour in the gulf. The competition for national championships will be fierce as boats and crews vie to qualify for the World Championships in Key West in November.
The races will be easy to see along Clearwater Beach. The 2.5-mile-long race course will be just a couple of hundred yards off and parallel to the beach. Turn One will be about 100 yards off Clearwater Beach’s famous Pier 60. A spectator fleet of private and tour boats will anchor in a pre-determined safe area, and several tour boat companies are offering race-day cruises.
