Call for business sponsorships for the 2013 Wichita Muslim Community Calendar!!!!!!!

Jerri Al-Sharieh and Dana Al-Hilali continue to partner together to manage CBIRD (Community Building, Islamic Resources & Development). We are designing our 3rd Annual FREE community calendar for Wichita. It features artwork from local Muslims. The calendar’s theme is “We Believe.” Distribution of the calendars will begin on Eid, Insha Allah. Undistributed calendars after the prayer will be available for placement at sponsoring business locations, as well as all three mosques. Many out-of-town visitors picked up calendars and visited sponsoring Muslim businesses last year. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity!

Your assistance in the form of purchasing advertisements is requested in order to promote community awareness and use of local Muslim-owned businesses. Without your support, we would not be able to provide this service to the community.

This year’s design will not have a fold down ad section, but will promote supporters with a tear out section of coupons in the middle of the calendar. There will still be 9 slots available on the inside back cover for supporters who do not want the coupons in the middle of the calendar. We are dropping the cost of the sponsorship to enable more companies to become community supporters for this service. Businesses can choose the tear-out coupon or the back cover ad for $300. Each ad/coupon will be 3.5” by 2”. The design can be submitted or done for the business as a courtesy. Ad space is on a first-come basis. Due to a tight printing deadline, all forms and checks must be submitted by Oct. 1, 2012.

Eid Mubarak to you, your family and the Wichita Muslim community! May Allah accept your fasting, good deeds and charity from the blessed month of Ramadan. May He shower you with His mercy and blessings, Insha Allah, for this next year. May you all be able to see the next Ramadan, Insha Allah.

CBIRD is starting production of the third annual Wichita Muslim community calendar, Alhamdulillah! We are looking for artwork to display inside its pages, Insha Allah. This year’s theme is “WE BELIEVE.” We are looking for artwork, poems, word art, etc to highlight the five pillars of Islam (shahadah, salah, zakat, siam, hajj) and the 6 tenets of iman (belief in Allah, prophets, books, angels, Day of Judgment, Divine justice [al-qadar]. The guidelines for submitting artwork is below:

• Use WHITE, UNLINED 8.5x11 paper
• Make your artwork horizontal
• Do NOT place name on front of artwork, must be on back with contact info (email or phone)
• Keep important elements of your artwork at least ½ inch from the sides of paper
• Can be computer generated
• Submitted by September 15
• Ensure your artwork is bold enough to be picked up by the scanner
• No pictorial depictions of the prophets
• Any age can submit artwork, living in or have lived in Wichita
• No Arabic Qur’an quotes to prevent mishandling

Wichita's community calendars will be available at the ISW's Eid Bazaar Saturday evening from 8 to 10 pm............Here's a sneak peek! They'll also be available at sponsoring businesses, Eid prayer and the mosques in town!

It’s that time again for the 2nd Annual Wichita Muslim Community Calendar, Alhamdulillah! This is an open call for artwork. Last year, we featured local Muslim children. This year, we are opening the artwork submissions to any Wichita-area Muslim……brothers and sisters of all ages! The calendars will again be given away for free to area Muslims on Eid Al-Adha, Insha Allah!
