Healing begins with hope.

For children in foster care, access to mental health support can make all the difference. Thanks to the generosity of the AE Foundation, Hero To A Child helped Sarah continue attending therapy by covering the cost of her co-pays. Through therapy, she's learning calming techniques and building the tools she needs to navigate life's challenges with confidence.

Thank you, AE Foundation, for helping children find hope, healing, and the support they deserve.

There’s still time to tell us what would make Christmas morning a little more magical for the child in your care, but tomorrow, October 14, is the LAST DAY to submit an Individual Holiday Wish List for Light the Season! 🎁

What are they hoping to find under the tree this year? A cozy new hoodie? Their favorite skincare or makeup? A football or basketball? Pokémon cards? Headphones?

Tell us what makes them, THEM. 💙

Submit your child’s wish list, within the gift amount designated for their age group, and Hero to a Child will match them with a donor who will shop specifically for that child.

We were so grateful to have some of the amazing women from GFWC Woman's Club of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Inc. volunteer at the recent Hero Games Co****le Tournament benefiting Hero To A Child.

From giving their time to jumping in wherever they were needed, they are a great example of what it looks like when our community comes together to support our mission. 💙

Polar has been spending time supporting children during therapy sessions, working alongside the trained professionals who are helping them process their experiences and emotions.

Sometimes a child sits beside him and pets his soft head while they talk. Sometimes they tell Polar what’s bothering them, because talking to a dog who doesn’t interrupt, judge, or ask questions can feel a little less intimidating. And sometimes they lean into him while they work through something difficult, letting all 75 pounds of Polar quite literally support them through the conversation. 💙

Polar isn’t the therapist. That important work belongs to the trained professionals in the room.
His job is to make doing that work just a little bit easier.

Whether he’s listening to a child tell him their problems, offering a furry head to pet while they find the right words, or serving as a full-body canine pillow when someone needs a little extra support, Polar is happy to be there!🐾

Christmas looks a little different for every child.

For one, the perfect gift might be something connected to a favorite hobby. For another, it’s the shoes everyone at school is wearing. It might be something for their room, a new game, their favorite characters, or that one thing they’ve been talking about for weeks.

That’s exactly why Light the Season Individual Wish Lists are so special.

Our donors receive a wish list created specifically for the child they’re shopping for, giving them the chance to choose gifts that reflect that child’s interests, personality, and Christmas wishes. 🎁✨

If you have a child eligible for Light the Season, please take a few minutes to submit their wish list before registration closes October 14. Wish lists should include options within the designated gift amount for the child’s age group.

What a day!

We had an incredible time at the 2026 Hero Games Co****le Tournament, presented by Calello Plumbing LLC and hosted by Suncoast NPI – Oldsmar, benefiting Hero To A Child!

A huge THANK YOU to the sponsors, organizers, volunteers, donors, players and everyone who came out to cheer on the teams and support our mission. It took so many people coming together to make this day possible, and we are incredibly grateful for every one of you.

Every sponsorship, registration, donation, volunteer hour and show of support helps Hero To A Child continue empowering, uplifting and supporting children and young adults in foster care throughout Pinellas and Pasco Counties.
