Our last POL luncheon of this season featured Maestro Milnes, Maria Zouves and a performance by baritone Chad Sonka of the VOICExperience, accompanied by Teresa Ancaya, singing selections from Sherrill Milnes’s CD “Kingdom by the Sea,” including “Richard Cœur-de-lion” by André Grétry; “Bois epais” by Lully; Verdi’s “Don Carlo;” as well as “Some Enchanted Evening;” “The Impossible Dream;” — and “Happy Birthday” to Beverly Hand!

Dear Opera Lovers,

The summer rains appear to have arrived, and the 2025/26 season of the Pinellas Opera League is coming to an end. It has been the 35th season, that is a reason to celebrate!

In June, Chad Sonka will present a recital highlighting repertoire of Sherrill Milnes' career under the theme of Sunny Days and Starry Nights, the theme of the Savannah VOICE Festival’s 2026 Season. I am sure it will be a wonderful finish to a great season. Sherrill Milnes and Maria Zouves are expected to attend.
