Spectrum News recently highlighted our latest operating grant cycle, which received a record 240 applications from organizations seeking flexible funding to continue serving our community.

Through this cycle, Pinellas Community Foundation awarded grants to 65 local nonprofits helping residents with essential needs, including housing, food access, health, education, family support, and more.

This growing demand shows why flexible local funding matters.

For clients age 70½ and older, charitable giving does not always need to come from a checking account.

A Qualified Charitable Distribution can allow eligible clients to give directly from an IRA to a qualified charity, and for clients taking RMDs, it may count toward the required distribution.

The key detail many miss: the transfer must go directly from the IRA to the charity. That is a small planning detail with a big practical impact.

In 2024, Tampa Bay experienced two hurricanes back to back.

What made the difference for many families wasn’t luck. It was whether help was already in place before the storm hit.

Through the Tampa Bay Resiliency Fund, nearly $1 million was deployed to support food assistance, emergency shelter, generators, nonprofit recovery efforts, and disaster preparedness across the region.

Hurricane season starts June 1st. Preparation starts now.

A stronger community response only happens when resources are ready before disaster strikes.

Memorial Day is a day of remembrance — for the lives given, and for the values they protected.

At Pinellas Community Foundation, we are grateful to serve a community shaped by that legacy. Today, we honor those who made it possible.

There's something worth noting about a waterfront dinner where the whole point is to sit down together.

PCF was proud to sponsor WUSF's Longest Table in St. Petersburg this April — an evening that brings the community together in support of local journalism, classical music, and the arts across the Tampa Bay region.

The organizations we invest in do more than deliver services. They shape the culture and conversation of this place. WUSF is one of them.
