Thanks so much to City of Oldsmar’s Mayor Katie Gannon for talking to our Webelos Den this evening! As part of their My Community Adventure, the scouts had to learn about majority and plurality types of voting, speak to someone elected to their position, and learn about the type of voting used in their election and why.
During their hour conversation, the Scouts learned so much about the election process and how cities operate. Afterwards, they led the room in the Pledge of Allegiance before the City Council Meeting began.
We’re proud to be the Cub Scout Pack officially serving both Oldsmar Elementary and Forest Lakes Elementary, and loved learning more how the local city government works!
