Today, the Clearwater Bar Foundation was proud to host two performances of Goldilocks on Trial at the Historic Clearwater Courthouse! Three different elementary schools joined us as students took on the important role of jury members in the case of Mom A. Bear, Pop A. Bear, and Babe E. Bear vs. Golden Locks a/k/a Gold E. Locks.
The students listened carefully to determine whether Gold E. Locks illegally entered the Bears’ home, used their belongings, and broke Baby Bear’s chair. In both performances, the juries found the defendant guilty — and had Goldilocks arrested!
This interactive program continues to be a wonderful way to teach young students about the justice system and courtroom procedure in a fun and engaging way.
A special thank you to our Chair, Martha Evans, and our incredible cast for volunteering their time and talent:
• Goldilocks – Judge Kim Campbell
• Mr. Locks – Dan Parri
• Locks’ Attorney – Judge David Ellis
• Bears’ Attorney – Stephanie Willis
• Papa Bear – Kris Parker
• Mama Bear – Maria Pitelis
• Baby Bear – Justin Homburg
• Judge – Judge Julie Sercus
We would also like to thank the Sixth Judicial Circuit, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, our student deputies who helped make the courtroom come to life, and the teachers who were great sports after unexpectedly becoming part of the show!
Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a memorable experience for our students and community.
