Level K to Level 4. In Kindergarten. 🎶

Martin started SOAR just beginning to read, and finished 12 weeks later four levels up, while his big brother Evan was making gains of his own.

Their mom shared how music-based practice turned reading from something the boys had to do into something they asked to do.

From Level 2 to Level 7 in just 12 weeks. 📚

That's Evan, a 2nd grader who finished SOAR's music-based literacy program with five reading levels behind him.

His mom told us the biggest change wasn't the levels. It was the daily practice habit, and the "never-give-up" mindset that came with it.

WHAT IS SING OUT AND READ?

We're a Tampa Bay 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to end illiteracy through the power of singing. Our individualized, tablet-based program helps struggling readers ages 6–12 improve their reading an average of a full grade level in about three months — measured with a validated reading assessment.

HOW IT WORKS:

1️⃣ Sing 2 songs a day for 12 weeks
2️⃣ Earn prizes along the way for using the program properly
3️⃣ Finish the program and your child earns a high-quality tablet that's theirs to keep

On June 13th, we celebrated the incredible students of the First Tee cohort who completed our SOAR Program!

Families, friends, and supporters gathered to recognize these Super Readers who put in the work - 900+ minutes of singing to read over 12 weeks. It was a day full of pure joy and achievement, marked by the smiles, certificates, and tablets they earned.
