History is getting a bold new spotlight in Clearwater!

Join us this Tuesday, June 30 at 9:00 am as we unveil a new signal box wrap by artist at the intersection of North Fort Harrison and Seminole Street.

Created in collaboration with the Daughters of the American Revolution Clearwater Chapter NSDAR and installed in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, this new public artwork honors five remarkable women of the American Revolution: Betsy Ross, Phillis Wheatley, Margaret Cochran Corbin, Sybil Ludington, and Mercy Otis Warren. From poetry and political writing to battlefield bravery and patriotic symbols, these women helped shape the story of America.

We hope you’ll join us on Tuesday morning we celebrate public art, local collaboration, and the powerful stories of women in American history. 🇺🇸

Clearwater chapter is having a monumental week. At CC our Mayor of Clearwater Bruce Rector attended to help Lincoln the eagle sore over Continental Hall.
Drum roll —our 250 Street Signal Box art wrap dedicated to the woman patriots of the American Revolution
• Betsy Ross, sewing the American flag
• Phillis Wheatley, writing poetry that challenged the hypocrisy of enslavement Margaret Cochran Corbin, who fought in the Battle of Fort Washington
Mercy Otis Warren, who wrote a multi-volume series against British rule, known as the "First Lady of the American Revolution"
• Sybil Ludington, the 16-year-old who rode to warn of a British attack in 1777
Has been installed. Dedication is June 30th 9:00 N. Fort Harrison and Seminole streets in Clearwater.
