For the month of October, Kid's Club Members will remember that God never fails to guide His people. Throughout the Bible, God guided brave believers through wild paths, and we can follow in their footsteps! When obstacles seemed impossible, God proved faithful, providing direction, strength and victory. Like trailblazers marking the way, these stories show we can trust God to lead us wherever the trail goes.

We are His people. We are His possession. And we exist for His praise.

God has not only saved us from sin; He has made us His own so that we might proclaim His excellencies. Our lives are meant to point to the One who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession…” — 1 Peter 2:9

As this week ends, remember who you are in Christ and live to make much of Him.

Once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Peter reminds us that our standing with God is not something we earned. Mercy changed everything. In Christ, those who were once far off have been brought near and made part of the people of God.

“Once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” — 1 Peter 2:10

Take time today to thank God for the mercy that brought you in.

Christ is either the Stone upon whom we rest or the Stone over whom we stumble.

Jesus does not leave us neutral. He calls us to repent, believe, and trust Him completely.

For those who believe, He is precious. For those who reject Him, He becomes a stone of stumbling.

“So the honor is for you who believe…” — 1 Peter 2:7

Ask yourself today: Am I truly resting my whole life on Christ?

The church is not meant to be a pile of loose stones.

Peter says that believers are “being built up as a spiritual house.” God saves us personally, but He does not leave us isolated. He joins us to His people and fits us together for His purposes.

You matter in the life of the church, and so do the people God has placed around you.

“You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house…” — 1 Peter 2:5

Yesterday we were reminded that before there can be living stones, there must be the Living Stone.

Jesus Christ is the foundation of the church. We are not held together by personality, preference, tradition, or circumstance. We are built upon Christ.

“As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious…” — 1 Peter 2:4

This week, rest again on the One who cannot be shaken.

“Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow.”

A newborn does not have to be convinced to hunger. Hunger is a sign of life.

The same is true spiritually. God has given us new life through His Word, and He calls us to keep feeding on that Word so we can grow.

Before this week ends, make time to open your Bible—not simply to finish a chapter, but to hear from God, to know Christ more deeply, and to let His truth shape you.

The Word that gave you life is the Word God uses to grow you.

Stay hungry for it.

Peter tells us to “put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.”

Those things do not belong in the life of a people who have been born by the Word.

Take a moment today and ask the Lord to search your heart. Is there resentment you are holding onto? Envy toward someone else? A careless word you have spoken? A relationship where you have been less than sincere?

God’s Word does more than comfort us. It corrects us, exposes us, and calls us to put away what does not belong.

Don’t just read the Word today. Let the Word read you.
