In Clearlake, Sunday, December 19, 2021 enjoy the “Best Breakfast in Lake County”. On the third Sunday of each month, the Clear Lake/Callayomi Masonic Lodge #183, Free and Accepted Masons, serves a full, sit-down breakfast at the Masonic Center located at 7100 South Center Drive in Clearlake, California. Choose your breakfast from a large menu including, eggs (any style), omelets, hash browns, biscuits & gravy, hot cakes, breakfast meat, toast, juice and coffee. Breakfast is served from 8:00AM to 11:00AM. Cost is $11.00 plus tax for adults, $4.00 for children ages 6-12. Kids under 6 are free and are served a special “kids” breakfast.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Richard Hughes Lewis was born on Feb. 23, 1924, and passed away on Oct. 8, 2021, at the young age of 97.

Dick is very well known for his care of families in our community as the owner of Jones and Lewis Mortuary in Lower Lake from 1954 to 1981.

As a young man Dick served in World War II and is an Army veteran.

He had a strong civic responsibility, belonging to Clearlake Callayomi Masonic Lodge No. 183, Eastern Star, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Elks, Lakeshore Lions, Moose, Aahmes Temple Oakland and the American Legion.

He was a member of the Lower Lake Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years and a Konocti Unified School Board member for 25 years.

He was instrumental in bringing independent study to our local schools and the Richard H. Lewis Alternative School was started in his name.

Dick’s energy was never-ending. He enjoyed many motor home trips over the years and fun times with family and friends. At age 70 he hiked down the Grand Canyon. He was a kind, caring, genuine man, always willing to help wherever he could. He will be missed dearly.

Dick is survived by his wife, Betty Lewis; son, Ted (Coleta) Lewis; grandson, Troy Lewis; great grandson, Elliot Lewis; several nephews; and many good friends. He is predeceased by his son, Mitch Lewis.

Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary in Lakeport on Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Visitation will also be held at the Clearlake Callayomi Masonic Lodge No. 183 on Thursday, Oct. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Private Interment will be at Lower Lake Cemetery.

The Masonic service for Brother Richard "Dick" Lewis will be held at Clear Lake Callayomi Masonic Lodge, 7100 South Center Drive, Clearlake on Thursday October 14th at 11:00 am. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 9am to 11am. Reception following the service.

There will also be a viewing at the Chapel of the Lakes on Wednesday, October 13th from 2pm to 5 pm.
