The Lake County Office of Emergency Services (OES), the Lake County Economic Development Corporation (EDC), and the Lake County Chamber of Commerce will host Before the Smoke: A Lake County Business Preparedness Forum, a free community event designed to connect local businesses with the resources, agencies, and relationships needed to prepare for and recover from disaster.

The forum will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at Kelseyville Presbyterian Church. Attendance is free, and registration is required.

Lake County businesses face recurring threats from wildfires, power outages, and other emergencies. This event is intended to help business owners act before disaster strikes - building the knowledge, contacts, and plans that can mean the difference between a business that survives a crisis and one that doesn’t.
Confirmed participating organizations include the Lake County Fire Chief’s Association, CAL FIRE, and the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES).
Additional agenda details and presenters will be announced as the event date approaches.

Business owners, managers, and operators of all industries are encouraged to attend.
Space is limited and registration is required to secure a spot.

The PG&E Corporation Foundation funds Restaurants Care Resilience Grants

For the sixth straight year, The PG&E Corporation Foundation (PG&E Foundation) will fund grants to support independent restaurant owners and their staffs through the California Restaurant Foundation’s (CRF) Restaurants Care Resilience Fund. The grants will support a record number of restaurants in Northern and Central California this year.

In 2016 she launched a free soccer clinic initiative to empower and inspire at-risk high school teens living in underserved communities by educating them on healthy living and positive thinking.
