A great day in court for our Humane Officer Jenelle Thompson! The custody of 6 beautiful cats were awarded to the Clearfield County SPCA by the Honorable Judge Morris this past week. The defendant, Rebecca Redmond, was guilty on 6 out of 12 summary citations that were filed against her. The defendant failed to provide access to clean and sanitary shelter for Chloe, Beeper, Simon, Mango, Baby Chubbs, and Big Papa. Today each of these kitties are thriving! With the outstanding veterinary care given by Dr. Erin Desantis and her wonderful team, each one is happy and healthy and well on their way to their furrever home!

Please stop sharing this false information! The temperature in “Libres Law” can NOT in and of themselves be a violation. What does this mean? This means there MUST be another violation, EX: no food, no water, no shelter for the temperature to be a factor and the owner to be cited. As much as we would like to: a Humane Officer cannot go out and just pick up a dog that is tied outside in cold weather. What can you do and who to report to? If you are in Clearfield County you can call the Clearfield County SPCA at 814-765-2220. You can also call the State Police. Please don’t hesitate to call the SPCA with any questions!
