Bunny Case

HSPO’s (Humane Society Police Officer’s) had taken an anonymous report that stated there was a property on the way to Dubois with 3 garages full of bunny cages, stacked to the ceiling full of bunnies, along with a livestock guardian dog that was severely matted. HSPO’s Sopic and Thompson went to speak with the owner who happily walked them through her whole operation. The owner stated that she breeds to show, sell and butcher. The bunny cages were in the process of being cleaned when they arrived on the property, and the owner also showed HSPO’s Sopic and Thompson some safe bunny handling techniques. The owner then showed them her dog that had his hind end recently shaved. She stated she only rescued the dog a year ago and she was the only one in her home that could handle him. HSPO Thompson gave her some training and grooming tips to help her keep up with his grooming, training and socialization. They found no violations at this time and have closed this case.
