Every photograph tells a story!

This envelope of negatives was discovered in the Winburne area of Clearfield County and contains what appear to be World War II era images of soldiers and scenery. The envelope of negatives is unidentified, but among the miscellaneous papers found with it were the surnames Cole and Rackish.

Thank you to the anonymous donor who entrusted these negatives to the Clearfield County Historical Society's Negative Project. What someone may have considered worthless or destined for the trash will now be preserved for future generations.

This group of negatives was donated by the Clearfield Area Jr/Sr High School. These images are from the early 1970s. This batch of negatives are in the form of small square Kodachrome slides. This collection of slides that was stored for decades at the Clearfield High School is such a treasure to Clearfield County history.
