From learning the rich history of this iconic venue, to preparing for concerts, tours, and special events, our interns spend time behind the scenes getting ready for a busy summer at the Surf!

🎬 Behind the Scenes at the Surf Ballroom! 🎶

Our high school interns had an amazing opportunity to learn what it takes to bring a live show to life! They started the day by exploring the basics of live event production through videos, before getting hands-on experience setting up microphones and learning how audio systems work.

They also got an inside look at the video screens, stage lighting, and sound equipment that help create an unforgettable concert experience. Throughout the day, they learned about the teamwork, planning, and technical skills that go into every show!

A huge thank you to Dusty, the Surf's Production Manager for sharing his knowledge and giving our interns a behind-the-scenes look at the production process that makes every Surf Ballroom show possible, and Dakota for bringing energy to the stage and being amazing while our interns practiced their new skills! 🎤✨

The Music Experience Center will be closed to the public this week (1/19–1/24) while we put the finishing touches on everything for Winter Dance Party. The Surf Ballroom will remain open with a $10 admission price. Thanks so much for your understanding — we’re counting down the days and can’t wait to welcome everyone back next week.
