The mission of Foster the Family is to fill a gap and remove a roadblock of saying no to a foster child needing a home and family. We will love, encourage and build up foster and birth families

in our community through support and providing for physical and tangible needs. Our vision is that foster and birth families have a Christian community who supports them as they reunite families and care for God’s children by supplying material items and necessities for families, sustaining ongoing services for foster and adoptive families and equipping people to engage in caring for children and families in need.

We have the most amazing community. 🧑

Hearing Associates has signed on as a full Community Hero sponsor, which means they’re showing up for MR all year long. That kind of commitment means we can keep doing what we do β€” showing up for foster and kinship families every single time they need us.

Thank them. They deserve it. πŸ‘

Today we had the amazing privilege to present a check for $5000 to Make Room for Yes! This was a result of our most recent project. Your decision to invest in better hearing not only benefited you, but contributed to the goal of removing the roadblocks that stand in the way of saying β€œyes” to a child in need of foster care!

"Make Room for Yes" isn't just a name. It's the answer to a question families hear every time the phone rings. πŸ“±

Can you take a sibling group of three?
Can you take a medically complex infant?
Can you take a teenager who's never had a stable home?

Those calls are hard. The yes is harder. And no family should have to say it alone.

That's what we're here for. We remove the roadblocks β€” the car seat you don't have, the bedroom that isn't ready, the freezer that's empty at 10pm when a placement just walked in the door.

We make the yes possible. We always have. Now our name finally says so. 🧑

Make Room for the messy, crazy YES.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ 28 foster and kinship families served in our community
🧳 35 Cozy Cases out the door β€” every one filled with new-with-tags items chosen for that child

All of it built by people who just said yes.

Foster Care Awareness Month is a good time to say: if you've been thinking about donating, this is what it goes toward. Real families. Real needs. Right here in Clear Lake. 🧑

FtF didn't start with a grant or a strategic plan. πŸ“‹

Laura and Amanda had heard from Four Oaks multiple times over the years. Each time, they left with a little more on their hearts. A little more weight about what foster families in their community were actually carrying. The midnight calls. The kids arriving with nothing. The gap between what families need and what exists to help them.

In 2023, they stopped waiting for someone else to do something. πŸ™Œ

Their families β€” husbands, kids, all of them β€” came right along with them. Because that's what this is. Families, helping families.

No salaries. No fanfare. Just yes. 🧑

28 families later, we're still here.

A friend needed an infant carrier. New placement, and nobody in her circle had an extra. πŸ‘Ά

So she did what you do: posted in a community Facebook group. Open to anyone. Asking strangers for something her new baby needed.

Laura happened to have one in storage. Problem solved β€” that time. πŸ™

But why is Facebook the answer? Why is the system "hope someone sees it and has one"?
That's the question FtF was built to answer.

Our Large Item Loan Library exists so foster and kinship families have somewhere to go first. πŸ›οΈπŸš—πŸš² Cribs, strollers, car seats, bikes, bedding. No time limit. No verification required. We trust our families.

28 families served. More large items loaned than we can count.

If you have something sitting in storage that a foster family could use, we want to hear from you. πŸ“¦

Our church small group has been ready to make freezer meals since before we had anywhere to store them. πŸ˜‚

They were there at the beginning of FtF. Prayed over it, showed up for it, and waited (patiently, mostly) while we figured out the storage situation. Last month, we finally said go. πŸ™Œ

We skipped the discussion time and spent the evening prepping 28 freezer meals:
πŸ— BBQ chicken
πŸ— Teriyaki chicken
πŸ— Italian chicken
πŸ— Garlic chicken
πŸ— Italian dressing chicken
πŸ— French chicken
πŸ— Dijon chicken (honestly, from personal experience β€” really something)

All labeled. Full ingredient lists on every bag. Most of them gluten free. πŸ₯˜

And now they need a home.

Foster and kinship families: come get them. Grab one. Grab three. Seriously β€” grab three. Throw them in your freezer for the night a placement comes in and dinner just isn't happening. That's exactly what they're there for. 🧑

We found out on a Tuesday night. πŸ“ž A kinship placement. A teenager who had been sleeping on an air mattress.

By Wednesday afternoon, her caseworker was walking out the door with a brand-new mattress, bed frame, comforter, new sheets, and a gift card picked out just for her. πŸ›οΈπŸ›’ Her choices, her colors.
That's what a Cozy Case looks like for an older teen.

We've said yes to 35 of these since 2023. Every age. Every need. Whatever it takes to make a child feel like they were worth the effort β€” because they are. πŸ™Œ

This Giving Tuesday, help us provide the essential comforts of home.

A warm coat, a pair of shoes, or fresh sheets are immediate signals of safety, stability, and care. Every gift counts because every need is real. Your contribution always matters.

Please consider turning your compassion into action today!πŸ’š
