Hello everyone! My name is Kaley and I am doing projects to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and to bring awareness to this rough, progressive genetic condition. I have been wanting to do my own service project for quite a while, but I just didn't know what to do or how to start. However, in recent months, I have really been seeing the Myotonic Dystrophy (a form of Muscular Dystrophy) that my sister, mother, and grandfather have really setting in and taking it's toll on them. So, I knew I had to do something to empower them and support them--because as of now there is no known cure for Muscular Dystrophy. The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a great organization to fundraise for because they are researching and working towards a cure, as well as supporting people, like my family, as they are working through life with this disease. As far as why I chose to make yard games, my hometown of Clear Lake inspired me to do so! Clear Lake's population doubles in the summertime, with so many people spending time outdoors and socializing with one another over activities. The goal of my project here is to create a community, raise money for MDA through my work and donations, and to post information and raise awareness. Thank you so much for checking out this page!
