WOW, Clear Lake. YOU SHOWED UP! 🌎✈️👏
What an incredible sight on Main last night for the Parade of Nations and Opening Ceremony of the 33rd FAI World Aerobatic Championship!

The crowds. The cheers. The flags. The flyover. And the chance to welcome competitors and officials from around the world to Clear Lake and North Iowa. ❤️

And they noticed.

We received this message from Event & Hospitality Manager Heidi Forbes this morning:
“The contestants and officials are still talking about it this morning. They are truly blown away by the hospitality of the people of Iowa.”

That’s YOU, Clear Lake! 🥹

A huge thank you to our Clear Lake FFA students who helped make the Parade of Nations happen by carrying the country banners, and to the Clear Lake Police Department for providing the parade es**rt. 👏

The World Aerobatic Championship is just getting started, so let’s take Heidi’s advice:
“Please keep showing up. Keep coming. Keep cheering. You are making this special.”

We have the world in our backyard this week. Let’s keep giving them a North Iowa welcome they’ll remember long after they return home.

We recently celebrated Images Photography & Fine Art with a ribbon-cutting and had the opportunity to tour their studio and learn more about their business!

Images Photography has been a Clear Lake tradition since 1997, offering family, children, high school senior and black-and-white photography. Their studio also features a collection of fine art inspired by Clear Lake and beyond.

Yesterday 60 Clear Lake middle and high school teachers stepped outside the classroom for Business Connections Day!

The North Iowa Corridor EDC, Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, and Clear Lake Community School District partnered to give teachers the opportunity to tour local businesses, explore career paths available in North Iowa and hear directly from employers about future workforce needs.

Thank you to the participating businesses and teachers for making time to connect education and industry before the school year begins!

The 33rd FAI World Aerobatic Championships kick off this weekend, starting with an Opening Celebration in Clear Lake featuring a Parade of Nations, live music, and pilots from eight countries. Then starting Monday, watch some of the world's best aerobatic pilots take to the skies over North Iowa!
