What did you do with your mustang this weekend?

Wendy and her son, Colton, made the most of the day by taking their mustangs, Addie and Ladybug, out for some arena work and a relaxing trail ride in the pine trees.

Any day spent with a mustang is a good day. Way to get out there and enjoy the ride, Wendy and Colton!

Describe your mustang in one word.

Then drop a picture that proves it.

Funny, brave, spicy, steady, brilliant, dramatic, loyal, opinionated, kind, athletic, curious… we know you have a word.

We'll go first ... BRAVE.

There are a lot of places to ride.

There are a lot of places to show.

But IMHA was built for mustangs and the people who believe in them.

When you become part of IMHA, you are not just entering a class. You are helping build a place where mustangs can be recognized for their versatility, progress, talent, and heart.

You are helping create more opportunities for these horses to be seen in the show pen. You are giving your horse a place to earn points, build a record, and be celebrated within a mustang-focused community.

And whether you are brand new to showing or have years of experience, you are part of something that is still growing.

That matters.

Because the more people who show up, enter, support, and participate, the stronger this becomes for every mustang owner coming behind them.

If you have been thinking about joining IMHA, this is a great time to do it.

Membership gives you a place to belong.
Showing gives you a goal to build toward.

July entries are open now. Come be part of it.

Already showing your horse? Then maybe it’s time to add an IMHA show to your calendar.

Mustang shows are a little different.

Yes, you still get the structure of a horse show. You still get feedback, scores, placings, and goals to work toward. But with IMHA, you also get to be part of something built specifically to recognize the versatility, progress, and talent of mustangs.

If you have a mustang already out showing, this is a great opportunity to start tracking points through IMHA and build a record for your horse within a mustang-focused organization.

Those points matter. They give you a way to measure consistency, set goals, track progress, and celebrate what your horse is accomplishing over time. Whether you are working toward year-end awards, building your horse’s resume, or simply looking for another way to challenge yourself, IMHA gives you a place to do that.

And the best part? You are showing alongside other people who understand and appreciate what makes these horses so special.

If you already love showing, come experience it through the mustang community.

July entries are open now. July 11/12, Oregon Horse Center, Prairie Arena.

Ready to start earning points with your mustang?

The July IMHA Show is open for entries, and this is a great chance to get those points going while giving yourself and your horse something meaningful to work toward.

Points are fun. Awards are exciting. Ribbons are always a bonus.

But the real value of showing is the goal it gives you. It gives your training structure. It gives you feedback. It gives you a reason to keep improving between shows. Every time you enter the pen, you learn something about your horse, your partnership, and what comes next.

Whether you are chasing year-end goals or just starting to build your horse’s show record, July is a great place to begin.

Get signed up today and join us at Oregon Horse Center.

What are you doing with your horse this Memorial Day weekend?

A couple of our IMHA members headed out yesterday for a poker ride with their mustangs, covering high elevations, ridge lines, and beautiful country on a spectacular sunny day.

There is just something special about seeing mustangs out doing what they do so well: carrying their riders with confidence, heart, and sure-footed grit.

Now we want to see what you’re up to.

Are you trail riding, showing, camping, training at home, heading to the mountains, or just enjoying some quiet barn time?

Drop a photo in the comments and tell us how you and your horse are spending the weekend.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

As mustang lovers, we are reminded that freedom is more than a word. It is a legacy. It is something protected, carried forward, and never taken for granted.

Throughout American history, horses have stood beside soldiers, carried them across difficult ground, and served with courage in moments of hardship and uncertainty. Today, the American mustang remains one of our country’s most powerful symbols of freedom, resilience, and the enduring spirit of the West.

They remind us what freedom looks like. Memorial Day reminds us what freedom costs.

On this day of remembrance, we honor the heroes who fought for the freedoms we cherish, and we reflect on the wild, courageous spirit that reminds us freedom is worth protecting.

May we never forget, and thank you to all who gave much to protect our freedom.

This is what riding goals are really about.

Not perfection. Not every ride going smoothly. Not every show ending exactly the way we hoped.

Sometimes the same day holds a championship ribbon and a hard lesson. Sometimes there is triumph, frustration, laughter, nerves, and a little mustang “malfunction” all wrapped into one experience.

But that is why showing matters. That is why setting goals matters. For riders, opportunities like IMHA create a place to learn resilience, build confidence, and grow alongside their horses.

Every ride, every show, every imperfect moment is part of the process.

If you have ever thought about setting a goal with your mustang, this is your reminder to give it a try. It may not be perfect, but it just might be exactly what you and your horse need.

We admit it, we’re a little late posting this video. Sorry, Teddy! But we still wanted to share it because it says so much about what IMHA shows are all about.

If you’ve been on the fence about joining us, we hope this encourages you to take the leap, no matter where you and your horse are right now.

The truth is, if you never enter the gate, set a goal, or raise the bar for yourself, it’s hard to know what you and your horse are capable of. Showing gives you a place to start. It gives you feedback, scores, goals, and a chance to keep improving every time you step into the pen.

IMHA shows are designed for all levels of riders and mustangs. If you’ve never shown before, we want you to feel supported. If you’re seasoned, we want you to feel challenged. Creating classes that welcome both is not always easy, but when we see the incredible people and horses in this community, we know it is worth it.

At the end of the day, you and your horse are truly only in competition with yourselves. That’s what makes showing so rewarding. It’s not just about ribbons. It’s about progress, confidence, partnership, and finding out what’s possible.

We hope Teddy’s video encourages you, and we hope you’ll join us at a future show.

Pssst… there’s one coming up in July at Oregon Horse Center.
