So this afternoon I took the time to laying out a possible roadway to where the old entrance was this will if we have enough interest be able to allow for about 200 new lots and have a turnaround and access to to the lower backside of the cemetery probably not seen in decades. Please post thoughts on doing this road and adding lots in the back of the Cemetery!

Ok folks as you can see when you visit our Cemetery we now have a tractor with many uses already being used to clean up the over grown areas of the Cemetery. It’s going to take time to get it done as well as other labor to really make it look good. As I get more comfortable using this equipment I hope to start tree work pruning and removing damaged trees. Then start filling sunken graves and top dressing them. With is hopefully we can also start to plant memorial trees to replace those we have loss from storms. So we need folks who want to plant a tree in memory of their loved ones to step up make donations we will soon place prices for trees. Thank you for your support and reminder this is our Cemetery as lot owners you thoughts count we as your elected Trustees are trying to keep it as best as we can.

Question to our Cemetery lot owners this area use to be one of two of the original entrances tow the Cemetery should be as it is now or restore it to match the other entrance by the old pond possibly making a trail for walking or even making it as a road for future generations to use for Creamation burials?

Yesterday and today work using the tractor cleaning overgrown land the old pond was at and starting to remove where the other dirt dump was ( dirt left over from dozens of burials soon might be new lots for sale as well as grass. Our new tractor is seeing a lot of use trying to make our cemetery look even better as we get use to all we can d o we will add other task to its use. Right now it’s getting use the handling and control of it before we start using it around the headstones filling in low areas and reseeding them.

This is our newest tool for the Cemetery and it’s seen 4 hours of work cleaning up our excess dirt staging area. Although not perfect due to the clay content and being damp after a few weeks to dry more work will be done on that area adding a roadway to the storage area for dirt . This use to be one of the original roads into the cemetery and wit work can be a road way again.
Now to our new tractor it has a front bucket loader attachment with quick disconnect the same as a skid steer. This will allow for other attachments. The backhoe attachment has a 12 in bucket on it max is 24 inch grading bucket again no needed at present.
We will not be using this to dig full casket graves mostly for drainage work and tree planting and tree removal work.

Ok folks hopefully next week we will be sharing some good news on a piece of equipment we have bought. Over time time we plan on making some real improvements to the Cemetery with it.
Now for some serious thoughts for you as lot owners if you own a lot without a headstone on it now might be the time you think about buying a stone. Two reason come to mind one you get to choose what you wants someone else,two it makes it easier to locate you plot in the future.! Why I say this so far this year we spent over30 hours trying to locate plots with are old marble cornerstone markers a simple 6x6x6 Mable rock with your last name on the other with just a initial and number of lots you have think of years of frost haves some of these float up and get damaged or some sink into the ground up to a foot down. We now have switched to aluminum with steel rebar that a metal detector can find along with gps. We can not redo the whole cemetery as it would be in the tens of thousands of dollars. Again just a thought.
Now the start of digital imput of or records has started we now have 8 books on computer in cursive format just about 40% of our records we still have covert them to text and then organizing them into easy to use text. This is a huge step forward for future generations.
The website is progressing might be in testing soon ,our end goal with the website is in many parts our history,easier genealogy, add lot sale online ( pending state approval) donations, and a event page. We are looking into do Wreaths Across America first to get a volunteer committee set up to mange this event we will let you know soon about this.
We are getting bids on a new roof for our 150 year old Chapel and hope to reuse some of the inside to be office space that does not exist now.
Now for some financial help from our lot owners and family and friends we have great plans on how and what we would like the cemetery to be we are trying to get things done without going to the bank for money. We are not poor only restricted on how we spend our money in our investments to run the basic services of the cemetery donations make the wishlist come true. back many decades we use to have lot rent from every lot owner that stopped due to good management of our money. Today just like you everything we want to has cost that have risen above our income not the amount of dividends that have gone down ( the state restrictions cost us much money) . So every little helps us do what we can.
Now for something else to think about cleaning our older headstones that has no family to keep them up! We will be looking into getting a group of volunteers to look into the cleaning soon.

So here’s some good news! Our problem areas of dirt from the spring burials are going to be fixed this coming week. Hopefully by the end of next week will have good news about something we have looked into for years to have on property.
Now a update on our new computers we have them and have started to upload our burials to them so far 1927 to this year have been downloaded from our paper version,not to say much more work on just that data is in raw form. We are going to try an application to covert hand written to text than try organizing that to a multipurpose database. If that goes well we will then do the years of 1851 to 1922 as we now know we have a gap from 1922 to 1927. Also we are moving well on the website I was able to see how it looks this past week soon it will be in testing and presentation to our Trustees for approval as this gets ready to go live and get the bugs worked out hopefully we will be adding many services to the site.
Now as I have said after years without a time off from the many duties I do here as well as other organizations July 5 I leave for rest and relaxation on a trip till August 1 . We have been able setup those that called for remaining winter burials during my absence and will try to accommodate what can be done without a lot of ground work since at present I am the only one with knowledge to find and clear a site for burial. I hope everyone can appreciate what as an Association of Volunteers donate to keep our Cemetery looking and operate as it does.
As a tease about what’s coming it’s Blue in color and will assist in many duties around the Cemetery!

Well, good morning folks. Sadly, we have some damage from last night. One tree snapped off about 12 feet off the ground and again our flagpole snapped off. That said, we will not have a flag displayed for our country's 250th on Saturday, the 4th of July. The photos below show just how lucky we were since most of our trees are over 100 years old, if not older.
