Camp Dixie

Camp Dixie Camp Dixie is a private residential summer camp for boys and girls between the ages of 6 to 15. A summer tradition for over 105 years.

The Dixie Camps have been in operation since 1914, and each summer we try to provide all our campers with a wholesome camping experience, which they will treasure for the rest of their life. By having a limited enrollment (70 campers per session), children find the atmosphere at Dixie to be warm and friendly. The daily program offers each child an opportunity to participate in a variety of activit

ies geared toward their age and ability. The one-week sessions are set up for younger campers as an introduction to camp. They sample many different activities and special events. They also have the opportunity to experience one camping trip. The two-week sessions allow campers to choose their five daily activities. These campers have the opportunity to experience two camping trips as well as many special evening programs. By keeping the enrollment limited, Dixie is able to offer many programs and activities other camps cannot. Our staff is well trained, enjoys working with children and strives to uphold the standards and traditions that were established more than one hundred years ago.

I went for my Global Entry interview today, expecting the usual questions—but I got an unexpected surprise instead! My interviewer knew all about Camp Dixie, and as we were chatting, the agent next to us mentioned that his mother had attended Camp Dixie as well. Turns out, I had even met her before!

Such a small world, and yet another reminder of how special the Camp Dixie bond is. It’s amazing how it continues to bring people together, even in the most unexpected places
